Loveitloveitloveit!!!!

Esp Richard III song.....and the bit right at the end....there's a wasp......Grin

marjproops · 19/02/2013 21:20

Isnt Jim a great singer? love the wasp bit too at the end of richard 3rd.

He just makes you want to love these people he plays . I mean, George 4th was a right twunt yet I picture Jim as him and ........

and after all the revelations about the skeleton of Richard 3rd, well, the song is even more poignant, yes?

I wish theyd release a cd of all the songs, it shocks me that they havent.

the poster who knows one of the writers of HH cant you ask them to do that please?

the 1st episode we ever saw was the one with the Tarpean rock, and the Georgian navy song at the end...as soon as Jim (love them all but Jim and Simon are faves ) did the John Barnes type rap...well that was it, we were converted!!!

ZZZenAgain · 20/02/2013 10:28

some of them are really good. I like the RAF pilots. Dd's favourites are Charles II ( "the king of bling - the king who brought back partying!") and the Greek thinkers

ZebraOwl · 20/02/2013 10:58

Hearing "The Pachacuti" from a Senior Historian Type-Person (in a social situation, I should add, sadly not in a lecture) was slightly surreal...

My first encounter with HH as a TV programme was when my Brownies gave a rousing rendition of Restoration Rap: I was a mix of yay!small-people-feeling-the-history-love & this-is-actually-ACURATE-oh-what-bliss! The HH Shouty Man is an archetype that often features when they make up plays, too, I've noticed.

Anyway, no, YANBU. Not least because I don't know the Viking Song well enough for it to get stuck in my head Grin

There is enough demand in Vikings for a Viking shop?

I always put "Viking" on EO monitoring forms.

I think there would be demand, it's all those LARPers
(live action role-play).

In our house it's Charles II King of Bling and Henry VIII.

CheerfulYank · 20/02/2013 15:10

I've never heard of this show before! Wonder if I can get it on DVD...DS would love it. :)

TunipTheVegedude · 20/02/2013 15:11

You can watch a lot of it on Youtube - here's the Viking song, to start you off:

TunipTheVegedude · 20/02/2013 15:12

You can get the first 3 series on dvd but I don't know if it's released in the US.

peeriebear · 20/02/2013 15:19

My ancestors were actual Vikings :)

Lonecatwithkitten · 20/02/2013 15:21

My favourites are
Born to Rule over you - the 4 Geroges
Cleopatra - best bit 'Oh Mark Antony"
The suffragettes

Of course if you watch the HH prom you get them all back to back.

TunipTheVegedude · 20/02/2013 15:23

DD is seriously obsessed with Suffragettes as a result of that song.
