To think that I'll ever manage to go to the loo on my own ever again!

DD is now eleven months old, I try to sneak off for a wee sometimes but she senses it and always follows me to the loo, then proceeds to pull herself up on my legs. Shutting the door doesn't work one, because I need to listen what she is doing and two, she just barges in then falls over. Will I ever wee in peace!

you will, either when you go to work or when your DD is more like 3 as DS is now, he'll let me go to the loo on my own, but does want to know that's where I'm going or he'll come to find me. I have to stop myself when in polite company from annoucing "I'm just going for a wee wee in the downstairs loo." as funnily enough, normal people aren't interested in my bladder regularity or toilet choice...

doctorhamster · 18/02/2013 17:53

My 3 and 5 year olds still follow me into the loo. Thankfully they've got to an age where I can tell them to wait outside!

They always barge back in though.

HollyBerryBush · 18/02/2013 18:25

I have never had anyone follow me to the loo.

other than a knee trembler Grin

FutTheShuckUp · 18/02/2013 18:26

Lock the door/put child in playpen/cot?
I havent got time for toilet martyrs if im honest

grants1000 · 18/02/2013 20:17

When all your children are at school you will! I still get kinda excited about an uninterrupted wee or poo now they are both at school, I even look forward to a good bowel empty, I swear to God I am less sluggish and not as constipated now I can properly poop!

BambieO · 18/02/2013 20:48

Put baby in cot/playpen then toilet in peace. Five minutes won't harm. I never understand how anyone has people in with them constantly I get stage fright Grin

lurkedtoolong · 18/02/2013 20:50

Never mind you lot and your kids, I've got a cat that won't give me a minute's peace on the loo. If he's not trying to climb up on my leg to have his ear scratched, he's having a look in the bowl to see what's going on. I refuse to lock myself in a room when there's only me and cat in the house...

TallyGrenshall · 18/02/2013 20:52

DS is 4 and he still follows me in, and then usually insists that he needs to go and I'm in his way!

It's taken me since September to realise that when he's at nursery I don't have to rush Grin

MammaTJ · 18/02/2013 20:52

You will but I don't know when. My DD is 7 and my DS is 6. I try by giving them warning but then they suddenly need a wee when I am sat on the loo. At least I can now lock the door on them (having had it fixed this morning).

Lockedout434 · 18/02/2013 21:00

Can't wee or poo. My children kindly tell me my poo is very smelly and the younger one hold her nose and still chats to me. Have they tried to wipe you bottom yet . That freaked me out .

As for a bath ha!!!!! If you let them in they are stripped and in with you in 2 seconds and if you lock them out its a chorus of wailing and banging.
Leg shaving ha and double ha ( as I look with fondness at my Shetland pony legs)

mgrg · 18/02/2013 21:02

when they're about 9, you'll be able be fine.

thebody · 18/02/2013 21:03

Ewwww, no ffs put in playpen. That's rank pooing in front of your kid.

Mind u mine are usually bad so It would be child abuse!!

squeakytoy · 18/02/2013 21:04

Playpen...

Fairylea · 18/02/2013 21:06

Playpen :)

Ds 8 months old loves his. I pee in peace :)

Meglet · 18/02/2013 21:08

Playpen / pop her in her cot / lock the door?

I'd rather have them screaming outside the door than jumping on me while I'm trying to wee. Can't bear being pestered on the loo.

Lockedout434 · 18/02/2013 21:10

I even poo In front of dh.
I obviously am a slut of the greatest orders.

I also let them see when I am on my period

Shameless I am

QueefLatina · 18/02/2013 21:11

Yes, when they go to school you'll be able to wee in peace.

Unless you get a dog.......

Lockedout434 · 18/02/2013 21:12

My 11 month old could climb out of her play pen and cot
. It was death of my privacy

Lockedout434 · 18/02/2013 21:13

Come to think of it I pooed on the midwife with my second so she must associate the smell with freedom;)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 19/02/2013 07:12

I used to put mine in their cot when they were little if I remembered.

It is now they are older I think I can sneak off but invariably DS2 follows me.
