(Lighthearted with a paranoid undertone)

I've been on MN for about a year. I get involved in & start threads. I'm addicted enjoying the site yet I don't ever seem to be included in the group banter that comes from the evolution of a thread, despite trying to involve myself.

I think I can be quite funny this might be where the problem lies, maybe only I am of that opinion and I'm pretty much socially trained. So I'm thinking maybe I am in actual fact made not real Grin

shite, I'm a social outcast, aren't I? Hmm

Or skid marks on the sheets but I think that was a different forum...

Hecate - Grin

I'd name change but I can't work out how! Wink

HecateWhoopass · 15/02/2013 14:10
Grin
MrsMeow · 15/02/2013 14:53

I think you need to stop over thinking it, OP :) think of the thousands of people that lurk and never post, let alone the people that do...do you really want to be "known" by all those people?

Maybe it's just me, but I'd hate to be popular/known on a site that's this big and in the public eye so much...

Maryz you're absolutely right. I started that post with the intention of saying hi to every single poster on this thread - but gave up pretty sharpish when the iPad started autocorrecting all the names and it was taking forever.

HI EVERYONE! Sorry I missed out some of you!

Whojamaflip · 15/02/2013 16:35

Humph Grin

Aspiemum2 · 15/02/2013 16:41

Don't worry hearts, I knew I didn't really exist anyway SadSad

wem · 15/02/2013 16:44

In order to be consistent with my previous declaration that I am perfectly happy with being unknown, I would like to say that I don't mind in the slightest that Hearts left me off her list.

also humph

Thanks for starting this thread Itsall. I was even considering flouncing this week but as someone else pointed out, no one would notice.

I recognise most of you on this thread and have come to the conclusion that it must be all in my head as we can't all be queen of the thread killers Grin

Blipbipbeep · 15/02/2013 16:55

Oh and I have been dying to ask if I have made it to a spreadsheet but suspect that makes me needy

Blipbipbeep · 15/02/2013 16:57

I often wondered about making sure I'm the last on a thread I've started too - another question answered :)

Who's Chaos and why do they have a spreadsheet?
Is this another secret MN thing that I don't get - a bit like not having a number in your name because you have no imagination?

I can tell Scottish posters too, sometimes. Especially those from the West Coast, usually when I pick up a word I use/ know.

I don't think I'm over-thinking it, MrsMeow, just pondering and wondering if others wondered the same.

It's not that I want to be known/ popular. I'd just like to become familiar with some of the posters who usually post on the same threads as I do. Just as Hectate says:

but we're all just hanging about together and I like to think of it as a great big group of mates all chatting away, you might not actually be 1 on 1 with most of them, but you're all still there together.

(How do posters kill end their own threads, just for future reference?)

Maryz - no fluffybits????

:(

(Thread Killer Extraordinaire here now - please make room)

Aspiemum2 · 15/02/2013 17:24

Thank you Maryz Grin. Delightfully random, I like it

Aspiemum2 · 15/02/2013 17:27

Still unclear wrt the spreadsheets though?

I always post on threads that whinge about usernames that include numbers Grin

Other than that I'll often be found on any theatre/music threads and other randoms as the mood takes.

Pretty sure I'm "unknown" which is grand. I do resist the temptation to do a shouty caps "DON'T YOO KNOW WHO I AM???" Smile

and I'm a big fan and avid strike through activist
