To despair at EVER finding a bra that fits?!

So, I have read every website on the subject, been measured at Bravissimo, and STILL find every single bra uncomfortable - even the ones that Bravissimo said were the right size. I just want to rip the thing off as soon as I get in from work. They seem fine for about an hour, then start to dig in.

I find that they just 'curl up' at the back, and I get horrible back fat, or dig in at the side/arm pit, but mainly on just one side! The band never seems to sit flush to my side iyswim. I have tried going up a band and down a cup, down a band and up a cup etc, have tried every style going..........

I found when I wore my saggy old too big bras they gave me no shape or support, but my god they were comfy!

I think I am about a 36/38 E/F. I have ordered and sent back about ten bras this last month as they just all HURT.

So, AIBU to just let 'em all hang out and be pain-free??!!!!

44 under and 49 over

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:28

42E or 44 DD ?

SorrelForbes · 06/02/2013 22:29

I might have to try that balcony Helena, it could be a good work bra.

piratecat · 06/02/2013 22:29

AF the bra isn't sitting against her breast bone, you can see the skin in touching way above the bra, the curve of the top of her breasts is so high, you can tell she has got something in that bra shoving them even higher. pisses me off.

Hattie23 · 06/02/2013 22:29

Is 30C a weird size? So many shops i have looked at online do nothing in that size. Confused!

SorrelForbes · 06/02/2013 22:30

Zingy Try a 44DD

Did you hold the tape measure tight for the under bust measurement and loose (and leant forward at 90 degrees to the floor) for the across bust one?

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:31

great sale price on the 2nd one, pirate Smile

< polishes monitor badge >

I haven't felt this proud since graduation.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 06/02/2013 22:32

pirate
I have the full cup Helena and its one of my forget you are wearing it bras.

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:33

will the full cup Helena give my floppy useless boobs some lift ?

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:34

the balcony one doesn't go a small enough size for me

piratecat · 06/02/2013 22:35

one thing to remember that the measuring thing is a guide for the cup thing.

one could have say a 34 rib.

then you measure the fullest part of your breast. WELL, we all have the fullest parts of our breasts at different places, ie if you've high pert boobs, or you might have, long boobs. so that when you measure them you get a say 38 measurement, but by this time you are measuring further down your body!

At R and P we didn't use a tape measure. just experience and trying them on ended up making it so we could look and tell pretty much.

piratecat · 06/02/2013 22:37

AF i am a 32 dd in that one what were you?

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:37

forget it, it's only one size at that price Sad

Zingy123 · 06/02/2013 22:37

Hi yes I did measure that way. The 44a softcup bra fits me fine though when I put it on it rides up after time though. I can't see how a 44dd would fit me surely the cups would be too big? I have never had a decent bra. When I was pregnant I went to m&s debenhams john lewis mothercare none had any that fitted.

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:37

sorry, what, pirate ?

piratecat · 06/02/2013 22:42

here AF, ebay is your friend, when you know what you're after.

the £5 bra was a lovely dream! I normally pay about 15, and mine last two yrs.

ooHHOOHH

NorthernLurker · 06/02/2013 22:49

Just wanted to second Chaz's point about size. I am a 22 and wear a 38 band.

HotPanda · 06/02/2013 22:50

Oh I'm sorry AnyFucker, I must have missed that. Thank you!

SorrelForbes · 06/02/2013 22:52

Ok, if a 44 is riding up then try a 42DD/E.

AnyFucker · 06/02/2013 22:54

it's ok, HotPanda, I have my Monitor Badge now

I am going to M+S on Saturday to tell them all they are doing it wrong.

Zingy123 · 06/02/2013 22:55

Thanks I will give it a go.

AmazingDisgrace · 07/02/2013 00:12

I'm in a 34E The 34 is right I think but I spill out at the sides so suspect need an F at least? I'm less "full" at the bottom but find a balconette suits me better, I look flat in a plunge or soft cup no push up bra.
I had a breast reduction 17yrs ago down to a C cup (due to back probs) but they've grown back!
Any ideas re ideal bras?
