to be tired of being ill?

It seems that my DS1 and 2 are always bringing home bugs from school - they are both in primary school.

I enforce proper handwashing at home (particularly when my premature DTs were brought home from hospital in 2011), so they know how to wash their hands properly - I understand they probably don't at school, but they certainly do at home.

So why am I constantly catching their illness? Neither of them have any problems with their immune system (I don't think) - and I don't either.

I am so sick of feeling constantly run down, tired and ill - I know it's part and parcel of being a parent but it's just so tough. :(

AIBU to just want a break from the constant bugs and illnesses that seem to invade my house?!

Because most ikky things are airborn, so unless you put them in a mask, they will catch things. Plus, as much hand washing as you do at home, it doesnt stop bacteria on paper - bank notes being one of the biggest transmittors of diseases.

No help whatsoever but primary schoosl are a hot bed of virus and bacteria, in no small part due to the over sterilisation of preschoolers, the fact they arent playing and getting dirty nor mixing and socialising as much as their conteporaries did 40/60/80 years ago.

With regard to immune systems, they only function adequately when exposed to illness so it can build up immunity.
