To think if they tell me to come in on a Wednesday, they shouldn't be ringing me on Tuesday asking where I am?

Hmm

I've been put on a course by the Jobcentre to help me get back into work. It's 2 days a week, normally a Tuesday and Wednesday. Last week myself and a few others were told that, the funding for the course was being cut and they may have to close on a Monday and Tuesday. So we should come in on the Wednesday and Thursday starting this week. And not to worry if anything changed they would ring us and let us know in plenty of time.

So today I'm doing my shopping (in Asda no less, keep racking up those chav points don't I), and my phone rings. It's the receptionist from the course, where am I, I'm supposed to be in today. Hmm No, I was told not to come in because it would be closed today. So I'm to go in tomorrow and Thursday as I was told.

Now I'm worried bloody sick that they'll just tell the Jobcentre I didn't turn up today and I'll be sanctioned. I'm doing my utmost to get a bloody job, I apply for around 30-40 jobs a week. I'm always early to sign on and early to the course. Yet now because of their mistake I could be sanctioned. So frigging pissed off I could scream. Angry

Surely all of the others wouldn't have shown up either so it will be clear its the job centres mistake.

I always think it is best to put concerns in writing, so you have a trail of 'proof' and it makes it harder for people to screw you over because what they say exists on paper.

When you get home, compose an email asking for clarification. You could copy the job centre on this too.

That's a good idea newNN, I'll do that now.
