To wonder where all the dirty washing has come from

10.30pm last night, I put the last wash one, laundry basket empty, DC have been at school/college all day and DH still at work, washing basket now full again, AIBU to think where the fuck has it all come from?

in my house, it comes from one child who sudddenly has a fit of tidyness which means putting any clothes which wer eon their floor (clean semi-clean or dirty) into the laundry basket. There is an inverse law of the universe which says they will do this at exactly the moment when the last of the washing is in the machine.

Oh my god, you've actually seen the bottom of your washing basket, that's a feat I fear I will never achieve

PoppyWearer · 28/01/2013 22:33

My DH does what steppemum describes. He'll live in the same clothes a few weekends in a row and then suddenly chuck it all in the basket. Angry

actually what is worse is when at weekend you ask each child if they have put their school sweatshirts in wash. The say yes, you stuff washing into machine, all done. Then hang it up and notice that one sweatshirt is missing.

Will be going through it tomorrow and find out who's it is and if its clean or not and go from there I think

In my case the answer is: because your 4yo weed himself 4 times today Sad

Reaa · 29/01/2013 00:04

Oh no any reason for it or just laziness on DS part?

Yeah steppemum, same here.

Usually follows a rant from me about the state of someone's room so I have only myself to blame. I sometimes go through the basket saying "no! no! No! you only wore that for an hour at Cubs" (DS2 is the worst for this even tho he's only 9). Is that terrible?

And yes, it is always as I have just put a final load in, usually not a full load as I don't have enough stuff but I need to wash the few decent work clothes I own!

steppemum · 29/01/2013 09:08

and if it is my ds, once it has been in the wahing basket, even if it was clean he then treats it as if it is poison and won't touch it til it has been through the machine. sigh
