in asking what happened to Mr Jelly and Mr Mean

DS has just got into the Mr Men lately and has a couple of my old books from the 1970s (i'm old!!). He loves looking at the backs and asking me all the names.

Someone got him a few new mr Men books for christmas and we were going through the names on the back of one tonight- Mr Jelly was called Mr Nervous and Mr Mean was called Mr Stingy.... why???

When i said mr stingy, he said 'no mummy thats mr mean'

Little miss plump is now little miss greedy as well.

I'm not entirely sure but I think it's due to the Mr Men having a revamp a couple years back. It came back on to Channel 5 I think.

Probably some ridiculous breach of the mr men's human rights under European law!

Or maybe he isn't allowed to be called Mr Jelly as its a health and safety risk and someone could slip!

Really?? In the TV show there is also NO Mr greedy, and no Mr Jelly.
They are my favourite ones!

I was dead pleased when the DC's refused to watch the new Mr Men show, it's so trashy. I wish they'd repeat the originals.
