...I suffer from this debilitating condition and wonder if there is any help for people like me. My house is a complete fucking shit tip, my children are currently fighting over who eats the last biscuit, I am constantly in a state of worry that I have posted the wrong thing or missed something... all I can do is keep refreshing the page while chaos reins.

Delete the bloody thing then... block the websites... get an arsing life...

I really can't delete my FB page as my business is thriving on there and you need to have your personal account to keep the business one open

For those of you who want the time limiting software, it's actually a plug-in (if that's the right term) on google chrome called StayFocusd (yes, without the 'e' at the end).

I've installed it but get around it by using IE Blush

OverlyYappyAlways · 24/01/2013 08:17

Good luck all those loging in for one hour Grin

I sometimes get bored -liar-- so am capable of removing self from seat and doing everything. Hmm

I was supposed to start my college work when DC went back to school but I have had a child off sick every day since pre-christmas, so theoretically I would be at home unable to work if I was going into College, I am not it's Open Learning as I am big and ugly and stupid enough to remove self from mumsnetbut that is my theory.

Falling out with a few people can work... you feel all hurt for a while and detest mumsnet.

OverlyYappyAlways · 24/01/2013 08:17

"2strikeout fails... now I am moody with mumsnet.

ledkr · 24/01/2013 15:54

Peers in very twitchy to see if anyone is cheating.

Fakebook · 24/01/2013 16:38

I give up! First log in today, but had a sneaky peek at about 1.30pm on the bus. I deserve a few minutes!

ledkr · 24/01/2013 17:01

Haha you were just waiting for me to give up first!

ledkr · 24/01/2013 17:03

Might still hold off till after tea then kick off on aibu get it out of my system!
Aibu to park in a disabled space to take my child to asda to buy a massive tv with my benefits and then take him into the ladies even though he's 22 and does a T. rex?

mercury7 · 24/01/2013 17:16

I do spend quite alot of time on the net just idly surfing about but I see it as away of zoning out when I want to relax, a lighthearted diversion.I sure as hell dont worry about posting the wrong thing or missing anything!

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 24/01/2013 18:38

I have got excellent self control in other things - never addicted to anything else but this

Fakebook · 24/01/2013 20:07

Yes I really was ledkr!

Anyway I've had a very productive day (not surprising), and I watched part 2 of that new channel 4 programme, Utopia, which is almost as shocking as AIBU. Wink.

ledkr · 24/01/2013 20:41

Really??? I might ave a look.
I went out bought stuff and had coffee with a friend I've not seen for ages. We spoke actual words to each other.
I only quoted mumsnet twice too.

wewereherefirst · 24/01/2013 20:54

I failed at this- I was on Mn all last night as I couldn't bloomin sleep. But DH did his share of the housework and I played with the children after getting my hair cut.

Have guests tomorrow so I really do need to spend one hour online tomorrow..

ledkr · 24/01/2013 20:57

We were- where do you live? Dd was awake at 4 I could have dropped her round!

wewereherefirst · 24/01/2013 22:24

I'm in darkest Devon Ledkr I can run a moonlight nursery as DS2 is normally awake! Grin

ledkr · 24/01/2013 22:30

Good only about a three hr drove then!
Have you noticed this thread has died?
Everyone has gone cold turkey lol.

wewereherefirst · 24/01/2013 22:33

I know, it's so strange. How can they have real lives so easily!

DontEvenThinkAboutIt · 24/01/2013 22:35

dH is watching the footie so I have to occupy myself somehow. I don't have Facebook so I break up Mumsnet with a bit of Candy Crunch and MSE.

MsVestibule · 24/01/2013 22:36

Just spent about 1.5 hours on MN this evening, plus about 45 mins during the day. Massive fail Sad. But I am calorie counting too, so feel it is unfair to deprive myself of my only 2 pleasures in life, i.e. food and MN.

Hope DH isn't reading this over my shoulder!

Southeastdweller · 24/01/2013 22:42

Agree with prior that it may be more of a problem for the next generation.

Nonetheless, I do think alot of us are struggling at the moment, not helped by the portable platforms some of us use. I've now reached the point at home where I find it almost impossible to watch a film without checking stuff online, be it this, or Twitter or something. Sad

I honestly can't remember much of what I did in my spare time before discovered the Internet in the late 90's.

Fakebook · 25/01/2013 10:32

Grin couldn't keep away today.

FlouncingMintyy · 25/01/2013 13:32

I'm definitely not here!

ledkr · 25/01/2013 20:31

Oh Ello! I found myself standing up posting as if it doesn't count!
Been on it a lot today. But it's a pil weekend so I need the support!

AlienReflux · 26/01/2013 12:09

Erm, I'm only here to check everyone's not Hmm
