To think I shouldn't have to wear earphones when ds has a friend over!

Ds, 11, has a friend over and he is More than Loud!! I know we're used to a quiet house but we've had lots and lots of other play dates but since we've moved all of ds friends are Loud even when one on one! I can barely hear ds, but his friend is super loud and annoying!

Of course I expect a certain amount of yelling, whooping, etc. but just to think I'm having to put earphones on!! Is this normal for 11 year old boys?? And if so when do they outgrow it? I have 2 more hours of this, I just might lose it!

Ah well - at least they are not screaming teenage girls. My DD's friends can burst your eardrums with all the squealing. And that is over the dulcet tones of One Direction/JLS/other random boy band.

Does he just have a loud voice or are they engaged in loud activities. If it is the former, then I would be tempted to leave it - it can be hard to remember to reign it in when you have ahem...a "naturally projecting" voice and it's a sign that he is having fun and is comfortable in your house which is a compliment really.
