As it's snowed quite heavily here (currently about a foot deep), DD's preschool has closed for the day and my half day childcare for DS cancelled. Initially, I thought "what a pain", but then decided to make the best of it. OK, no problem, DS, DD and I went to a playgroup (at which she ran laps of the place towards the end while I tried to get her to sit for songs. Sigh. At least she then tidied up all the toys to help).
The lovely neighbour's children came over to play with DD, so I figured I'd get DS to nap over lunchtime and I'd do some chores (MN) and grab a cup of tea. And we've been invited out to tea to a friend's whose daughter is also having a snow day. So I figured that the day would kind of look after itself.
But we skidded in the car earlier, so not sure I can even go out later (bloody 4x4- doesn't it know it's meant to be able to deal with snow?!), DS hasn't gone to sleep yet, DD has had 2 accidents (she's 4, this never happens), I've 3 loads of laundry clean but wet in a laundry basket, kitchen looks like a bomb hit it and I feel like I've lost the will to live.
Does anyone else hate snow days?
