OK, I've only lived in the UK for about seven years and I think I may have given that other site a try when I was first new over here. I was pretty underwhelmed. Then, for the next six years I pretty much didn't understand wha the difference between the two sites was. I am not into "mommy" stuff. My own three kids are wonderful. Everybody else's kids... not so much. So, I just never came here.

Then, I started doing some research for my cleaning business and found lots of threads here where people talk about their experiences hiring cleaners. I thought I'd join and then I found AIBU and I'm totally hooked.

You cuss! You punctuate! You don't write in text speak! You're generally pretty reasonable and not at all boring!

So, anyway, here I am. I think I may become addicted. I hope to be as interesting as you all seem to be.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 21/01/2013 11:27

OHMIGAWD CAN WE SAY "CUNT" HERE?

Because that is seriously like my second favourite word.

My very favourite word is "cocksucker."

Oh, joy.

Your kids stink of poo anyway < mutter mutter >

caramelwaffle · 21/01/2013 11:32

Welcome. Welcome.

Now get to cleaning it Katy. I want it hoovered properly.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 21/01/2013 11:34

Damn straight my kids stink of poo. I love them, but I don't do much actual parenting of them. Fuck that.

caramelwaffle I'll be happy to hoover your red carpet. I should warn you that I charge £15 an hour.

Oi AF

Get ya' purse out love.

MsVestibule · 21/01/2013 11:40

Finding MN was the worst thing I ever did. My house now never gets cleaned, my children are neglected and every conversation with my DH starts "I was reading a thread earlier...". I can't seem to tear myself away; thinking of seeking therapy.

Katy if you think you're not yet in the grip of an actual addiction, leave now before it's too late.

AnyFucker · 21/01/2013 11:40

I like people who don't do much "parenting". I don't need a cleaner 'cos my kids do it all while I MN. If they don't I don't feed 'em.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 21/01/2013 11:43

MsVestibule I have a long history of message board addiction. Never cared for Facebook (just use it to keep in touch with peeps back in America). Not one for skyping or live chat and I don't troll the Daily Mail comments, but I can sure spend a lot of time on a message board.

I post on Ravelry a fair bit, although I haven't knit in almost a year (got burnt out knitting hats for people in an online book club.) There's a private board centred on my favorite punk band. And, there's a couple of cleaning business forums. But I've needed a good, general, board full of other mums who aren't too precious to say "cunt" and let their kid watch too much telly.

If you are interested in knitting there is a "knit tits to help each other" thing going on somewhere. That sounds like fun. (I might have changed the title a bit)

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 21/01/2013 11:47

Ooooh i love a knitted boob!

Welcome Katy, its a nest of vipers btw Grin

KatyTheCleaningLady · 21/01/2013 11:50

I'm bored of knitting for now. But, there's a local knitting group that I will be joining just as soon as my husband can come down from Scotland in April. Then I can get back to my old routine of leaving him with the kids while I frolic.

AnyFucker · 21/01/2013 11:54

There is "frolicing" at a knitting group ? Blimey, they do say the quiet ones are the worst...

KatyTheCleaningLady · 21/01/2013 13:48

Well, it's a quiet frolicking...
