To be peeved when mil tells me I don't feed my children a 'proper' diet?

How annoyed do you get at slights on what you feed your kids? It's the one thing that really has the ability to get to me which is whyI think mil makes the comments she does.
So yesterday the kids ate:
Porridge, banana and orange juice for breakfast
Apple
Homemade pizza with salad for lunch, followed by a large piece of cake
A bowl of frozen peas( still frozen - random to some I know), some slices of Brie and an ice lolly over the afternoon
Chicken dinner with broccoli, swede, carrots and mash, followed by a yoghurt and grapes, and a glass of milk before bed.
Apparently this is not enough proper food for 2 growing boys (aged 4 and 2). Cake, pizza, ice Lollys all in one day! Not to mention feeding them 'uncooked food' Hmm
Aibu to want to tell the old goat to mind her own?

I am a MIL, I wouldn't dream of passing any comment whatsoever on my grand children's diet as it is not my business. I learned the hard way as a DIL how infuriating that can be. In fact I think I learned everything I know about being a MIL from my critical, rude, self centred, interfering, confidence ruining MIL - ie do /say the opposite to her if that makes sense.
By the way, your children's diet sounds lovely

My mil is crazy like this too and her and FIL literally shit themselves to shove chocolate & crisps into her at any given opportunity. They insist on referring to this as 'something' nice. In fact my own dm does this too, 'eat up,your veg & you can have something nice' I have struggled with my weight since early teens.

Luckily dd asks for grapes/plums as often as chocolate/cake.

You want to talk food-obsessed MILs?

One Christmas I received a cookery book written by scientists and a second one entitled 'my dog eats better than your kids'. I had a very sick premature baby at the time and was holding my family together by the tips of my fingernails.

I laugh about it now of course.

Tell her that cake is the dessert of champions.

OP, their diet today sounds amazing and I wish my DCs would eat half that stuff!

My MIL is also food-obsessed. She spends hours slaving over meals for family gatherings, then plonks potato waffles and purees in front of my 4yo and 18mo. WTAF?

Of course, I then make a big show of giving them food from my plate...which they wolf down. Grin

Last time we went to Granny's house for a meal, my 4yo was crying in the car on the way home because she was still hungry, poor lamb! Next time I'll stash some food in the car, as it was we ended up pulling over for junk food, and she ate the lot.

Both my DMum and MIL are obsessed with getting my DCs to drink tea too. I can't think of anything worse than milky tea, so it won't be happening!
