Can you catch it from bed sheets? Sod's law I'll catch it for the weekend, when he's better and going away and I'll be left with 2 yr old DS on my own!

Dunno - but I hate bedsharing when one person is ill - it just seems so WRONG!

Nux · 15/01/2013 19:57

When I had norovirus, I shat the bed in my sleep. YANBU!

MuggledWoman · 15/01/2013 19:57

Me too! Glad it's not just me!

Not from bed sheets, but infected persons excreta! Stay away from the vom and shite though. Make sure he washes his hands properly( thumbs, nail beds and between fingers are rarely washed properly and harbour germs). Washing bed sheets at 60 is recommended though!

TwoFacedCows · 15/01/2013 19:58

my DH had it, i still shared a bed with him. i was fine.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 15/01/2013 20:00

Of course not.

However, norovirus is so contagious that you will likely get it from simply being in the same house as him.

Good luck!

Giggle78 · 15/01/2013 20:26

YA definitely NBU

My husband and son got it and its horrible. I made my husband sleep downstairs on a blow up bed. Which might seem a bit mean but he was ill recently and I slept downstairs on it. So I thought it was his turn. Plus I am preggars.

I never caught it so there is hope that you won't get it too.

WorraLiberty · 15/01/2013 20:29

A bit mean???

Jesus I think I've heard it all now

mrsjay · 15/01/2013 20:31

My dh had a terrible stomach infection a few summers ago I cant even say it poor bugger was shitting himself inside out I was ont he sofa for 2 weeks, I just couldn't when he was so il

Mia4 · 15/01/2013 20:40

YANBU, I was on the sofa while my partner had noro, I've known a friend whose been thrown up on by her partner during the same period and i really couldn't afford to be sick while he was.

TheCatIsEatingIt · 15/01/2013 22:17

YANBU. He probably wants to be left alone anyway. It would be mean to throw him out of the bed while he's feeling disgusting, but nobody could blame you for sleeping on the sofa/spare room/in with DS.

shesariver · 15/01/2013 22:20

Why dont you go the whole hog and make him sleep in the garden or something because you are sharing a house with him, chances are if you are going to catch it you will because of that.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 15/01/2013 22:23

Depends if you want to catch it or not. Further away is probably better - I go downstairs if husband is sick and he uses the upstairs toilet, everyone else the downstairs one.
