to wonder if this girl will actually get £150k+ for her £15 dress?

eggs11 · 15/01/2013 13:46

Yesterday a girl listed her dress on ebay for £15. What she didn't notice was that people could see her reflection in the mirror - with no underwear on!! The photo circulated around the internet and she's relisted the dress. Bids are now at £150k+. Will she actually get that much? I'm assuming they're all joke bids and won't pay up?

I meant that I didn't think the seller was doing it innocently - you don't post a picture of yourself with no pants on by mistake! I think she knew exactly what she was doing.

HecatePropolos · 15/01/2013 14:54

Yes, I know. Grin Me too. It's just that the only person who had said the word 'innocent' up to that point was me. And I hadn't said anything at all about the seller being innocent, I was joking with eggs that she is innocent Grin so I wondered if it was me you were referring to when you said someone had said something about her (the seller) being innocent. "Someone further up the thread said something about it being innocent" you said and I just wondered if that someone was me.

If that makes any sense. Grin which it probably doesn't Grin

Kendodd · 15/01/2013 15:04

Looking at the second picture, I don't think I would have noticed. I would now be dead from shame though.

BettySuarez · 15/01/2013 15:17

Am I the only person who thinks it's appalling that a bunch of grown women have the right to judge this girls so called 'innocence'?

What gives you the right? What if you are wrong? Sad

I have reported the post that links to the image.

What possesses one human being to do this to another. This has made me so fucking angry Angry

girlsyearapart · 15/01/2013 15:25

Weird- I got a message from another seller on eBay yesterday asking me if I could vouch for a seller who I bought a dress from in October.

She had changed her name to sugartit! Must be why he wanted to know..

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 15/01/2013 15:25

I am innocent and so's my wife

HecatePropolos · 15/01/2013 15:35

If we are wrong then she is a grown woman who put the picture up on ebay the first time wearing only her bra and with her genitals on display, without realising. And then relisted it (possibly after having been told to remove the fanny shot) with a view of her in a jumper and nothing else, again without realising.

I for one just don't think it is possible to do those things innocently - ie without knowing that you have done it. The pictures are very clear. It is extremely unlikely that this was accidental.

And nobody has judged her, or called her names. Merely agreed that it is unlikely to be accidental. Which is true. It is unlikely that it is accidental.

Particularly since the listing says "#ebayyellowskaterdress as seen by thousands. never worn naked"

Which clearly relates to the first photo.

now, even if we say that by some miracle she uploaded a fanny shot without realising - are we going to say that after having done that, she uploaded this picture without realising?

No. Of course not. She is seen on the picture because she wants to be.

feministefatale · 15/01/2013 15:49

If I were taking a picture of something I wouldn't do it from the side so it only took up half the pic. This is the same as selling dirty shoes

eggs11 · 15/01/2013 15:53

I do think the first one was accidental. The second one she's obviously taking the mick out of herself.

Oh god bettysuarez keep your knickers on! Grin No one is judging her 'innocence'! And she posted the second pick actually on purpose. Stop being utterly ridiculous. Report the photo if you must, but i'm pretty sure it's been seen by millions and this girl doesn;t care!

Its not the same for person locations are different. Makes me laugh thinking of how high its gone.

KateSMumsnet · 15/01/2013 16:03

Hi everyone,

Maybe we're being innocent and naive, but we've removed the second photo, as we think it's best to err of the side of caution, and presume this girl didn't want her nekkid body on the internet.

We're happy for you guys to discuss any topic under the sun, but we'd appreciate it if you could keep in mind that a thread poking fun at a young girl isn't really in the spirit of Mumsnet.

manticlimactic · 15/01/2013 16:11

It is the same girl. I noticed the ID the other day and she's changed the ID to sugar tit.

Locations is completely different area plus there is another with the same listing also different location

eggs11 · 15/01/2013 16:40

MNHQ - wow censorship overload much????? Firstly it's all over the internet. Secondly, she put it up herself. Thirdly, she reposted it again making fun of herself! ("not work naked).

It's a bit of a shame someone like bettysuarez has totally taken this out of context. I was posting more along the lines of 'is she really going to get that money?' rather than taking the mick. WOW CENSORSHIP OVERLOAD!!!!!!

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/01/2013 16:43

I saw that yesterday. No way did she not realise, everyone checks their photos before they put them online.

I thought it was weird she was wearing a bra but no knickers.

VisualiseAHorse · 15/01/2013 16:48

Maybe she doesn't like wearing pants?

RandallPinkFloyd · 15/01/2013 16:53

I saw the properly nekkid picture on Facebook yesterday.

Made me absolutely cringe but she'll be the one laughing if she really does get £150k!

Wandawingsthe2nd · 15/01/2013 16:54

Can someone link to the 'minge, I can see your minge' thread please?

BettySuarez · 15/01/2013 16:57

Whether she realised or not is besides the point.

She is a young woman who has made a very poor decision regarding her privacy and personal safety.

Who knows what possessed her to do it - coercion, a bet, low self esteem, attention seeking, grooming?

How many suicides do we see each year from teens/young women who thought that posting naked images of themselves online was just a bit of fun or harmless. To then be completley overwhelmed by the response when the thing went viral.

But yes, of course I am over-reacting Hmm

RandallPinkFloyd · 15/01/2013 16:58

your minge!

Branleuse · 15/01/2013 17:03

haha, i felt really sorry for her when i saw the pic yesterday, but shes obviously got a sense of humour about it.

squoosh · 15/01/2013 17:08

As she took the original photo, saved the original photo and then uploaded the original photo, it's fair to say she knew exactly what she was doing.

To suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/01/2013 17:08

You are a bit Betty

This particularly young woman clearly has a sense of humour about it. She just took the photo down and relisted the item!

Theicingontop · 15/01/2013 17:13

I've seen the original photo posted time and again on Facebook, accompanied by nasty remarks about her figure or how stupid she is. I thought about how this girl must feel. Clearly not too bothered at all. Good.
