I've been through so much crap with my ex (and on going) that Jeremy Kyle would have a field day. Still, I'd never air my dirty laundry on there.

It is seen as a badge of honour to the type of people who actually want to go on there.

A friend of mine's mum keeps trying to persuade her to go on JK to shame her into losing weight!!!

They get a freebie night in a hotel and probably get their travel expenses paid as well.
There's so much I could say about the 'guests'on there but I'll keep my mouth shut

Have had the misfortune to have known plenty of people like this. Their self obsessed lives revolve around drama, the arguments they've had and what other people have said about them ( nothing else to occupy their minds). Their usual lives are just like on Jeremy Kyle, they are just getting a bigger audience for it. It will be the best thing that's ever happened to them, the pinnacle of their achievment.

I knew someone as a teenager who was recently on there. Im not that surprised thats where he ended up.

It's sad to see the worst of British culture on screen, but America is arguably worse.

I had a friend who went on there once, she wanted a DNA test to prove to her kid's dad he was the father. He wouldn't believe her. Turns out she was wrong anyway hahaha

Meant to add, I've no idea why anyone would want to go on TV and tell the world about all the crap in their lives. The fighting ones get me, what possesses people, honestly?

I once watched it and thought they must be actors as I couldn't quite get my head round the fact that such horrible people were out there and that they would want punch each other up on the telly.

Because its the only attention they will receive during the course of their pathetic and mundane lives. They're also aggravated by JK's team so they air more than they need to.

Taught a child whose mum and dad were on JK. It was a 'leave me alone I am with her now' type affair. He has 3 children in the same year at school with 3 different women. They all lived very dramatic lives.

I'm guessing the people who appear on his show have been watching it (and others like it) themselves for so long that it has been normalised. They see it all the time; I guess it's all a bit 'monkey see, monkey do'. They just don't see it as strange.

My friend was in the same year at school with a JK guest, she was shagging other men behind her fellas back, she had a couple of kids i think.

Some people are just such exhibitionists that they want the 'celebrity' of being on TV. They haven't got the talent for X factor so this is their equivalent!

Flora We should know by now that you dont need talent to go on X Factor. Just be annoyingly entertaining.

My JK fantasy is if some mega intelligent contestants appear on the show (obviously minus gowns and mortar boards) pretending to be the 'usual' types and then suddenly become extremely articulate and offering reasoned arguments quoting as many bon mots from any number of the greatest minds of the previous century to back up their facts and wipe the faux concerned and unbelievably patronising look off JKs face.
