I'm on Facebook (yeah, I know) and I'm sat Confused at some of the statuses.
"Can't believe the school kids are playing out in this weather!" Cue other people 'liking' the comment and putting stuff like "yeah, can't believe it, they shouldn't be out in this!"
Er, hello?! It's only snow get a fecking grip springs to mind
Since when did we start moaning about children playing out in the snow?
The little darlings won't make like the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz and melt into a puddle if so much as a drop of snow lands on them.
If it decides to set later, I'll be taking both mine out later and chucking snowballs at them in a snowball fight.
So AIBU to think kids SHOULD be playing out in the snow at school or am I missing something and do the whining brigade have a point?!

YANBU - they should be out playing.

kinkyfuckery · 14/01/2013 14:19

Maybe it's not snowing where they are? Maybe it's pissing it down and blowing a gale?

5madthings · 14/01/2013 14:19

Yanbu they should be out! We only have a dusting of snow and mine are desperate for a decent amount to play in!

freddiefrog · 14/01/2013 14:20

On my Facebook it's full of people posting pics of their kids playing in the snow

I'm gutted that we don't have any, not so much as a flake. Just pissing rain. Again!

Nope, they live same area (and it's definitely just snow here.)
If it was blowing a gale and raining I could see their point. Smile

YANBU

But then again, I'm quite Shock Shock at some of the things I'm reading today.

wonkylegs · 14/01/2013 14:25

My DS would think I was evil if I didn't let him go out in the snow and play... He's been asking if he can do snow angels since snow was first mentioned on the weather forecast.
Snow always brings out stupid comments, FB just means we get to see more of them.

nannyof3 · 14/01/2013 14:30

Me and kiddies had a mini snow fight on the way to skool .... They loved it

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 14/01/2013 14:36

YANBU. Even if it was pissing down and blowing a gale they can be outside if they are properly dressed and want to be outside. Kids don't melt if they get wet. No such thing as the wrong weather just the wrong clothing for the weather.

yanbu snow is only fun for about 5 minutes then it is a pita kids should be out playing in snow till the novelty wears off, I am waiting on it is far to cold to send my 'babies' to school we are staying in snuggiliy and warm Just waiting give it a week or so the babies in question are 12 and 15 Hmm

mrsjay · 14/01/2013 14:42

we dont have snow either we did have some yesterday but it rained away,

Feminine · 14/01/2013 14:44

I think because its such a rare thing here.

I lived with snow for 4 months of the year for 7 yrs, it gets boring.

The kids don't turn in to Frosty the snowman!

LaCiccolina · 14/01/2013 14:45

Maybe they just envisage a pm if lessons sat in cold wet clothes?! Agree to play but do need preparation too....

mrsjay · 14/01/2013 14:48

well tbh if it is snowing you send your children to school with decent snow clothes so they are not sitting in wet clothes
