AIBU to think neighbour should have the brains to close the curtains?

Neighbour has just dropped his DC off here for an hour as apparently he's got some urgent job to do in the house - DIY related. Not sure what, he spoke to DH and I wasn't really listening as busy doing laundry. But have just looked out of my lounge window and I can see him sitting on the sofa watching TV! AIBU to think that if he wanted an hour's peace on Sunday evening, he should have the wit to close the curtains at least? Honestly.

I would go stand outside and wave at him.

Cheeky sod.

AKissIsNotAContract · 13/01/2013 16:45

I thought you were going to say you saw him having a wank. I suppose that could be an urgent DIY job.

VitoCorleone · 13/01/2013 16:45

Hahaha

What a cheek!

Maybe the DIY job is tuning the telly Grin

Never mind, at least I won't feel guilty when I go and hammer the door down in the middle of the night to get them to watch DD when I go into labour (37 weeks today)... Grin Maybe they're taking advance payment? Wink

It is a bit unreasonable to ask you to do it 37 weeks pregnant!

OddBoots · 13/01/2013 17:39

Is he just watching TV? I've had dh take the children out before so I can hit my OU books when I have an assignment due and I sometimes put the TV on while I study.

OddBoots · 13/01/2013 17:40

Sorry, I missed the DIY bit.

emsyj · 13/01/2013 17:42

Ah, it's ok Sassy, they are playing in the front room with Lego with DH - I'm sat in the back with a creme egg and the laptop. So it's no skin off my nose really!

I can't see what he is doing other than watching TV from the front room - I guess he could be doing something else at the same time... I could go up to the bedroom and look in with the binoculars...

Oddboots wouldn't the neighbour say he had an OU assignment rather than DIY.

OP - very cheeky, I would definitely let him know I had seen him

QOD · 13/01/2013 17:43

Hilarious, I would have to go out and catch his eye

Lastofthepodpeople · 13/01/2013 18:46

He might be doing DIY and watching tv, if he had something small and fiddly to fix. I have.
