DH has eaten all the kids christmas chocolate!

am so cross with him, he always does it and I tell him every Easter and Xmas, but he's done it again. I know it's temping late a night when you've got the munchies, but think it's selfish especially when a lot of it was given to them as presents (not just tree chocolates). I feel like telling him that I'm just off to Thornton's to replace the teddy bears with the children's names on and the rest, grrrrrr!

A few items sneaked out of selection boxes is one thing but eating chocolate teddies with your kids' names on is terrible.

Make him shift his large bum down to Thorntons to replace them and shame him in front of anyone who will listen, the greedy twat.

what do you do with it though? do you give them a piece every now and again?

hope he gets a dose of the trots from all the rich chocolate.

It's the 12th of January - how did it take him this long to get through it Shock. We'd scoffed our DC's chocolate well before New Year.

I've scoffed most of my kids chocolate, but they're all under 5 and unaware of all of it so I'm not guilty. Should I be?

How old are your dc's? get them to look after their own chocolate or get your DH to tell them he's eaten their chocolate or replace it himself if it's such an issue for you.

My dad used to do this when I was little. It was incredibly mean and I am still annoyed that a grown man couldn't just go out and buy his own chocolate rather than steal it from children who can't buy their own. I would make him go out right now and replace the whole lot.

I've eaten all of DD's. However, she's 2 and doesn't need it. Plus, DH has been diagnosed with diabetes and we've been told she will be prone to it, so it's for her own good really!

Also, I'm 28 weeks pregnant and I need it!

Your DH needs to replace it.

the DC's are 5 and 7 and not aware of exactly what they have admittedly, but they know there's a stash of it in the cupboard which I let them have a pick at every couple of days (they stuffed themselves silly at Xmas so have been trying to ration it sensibly!). I think when very young you can just about get away with it but I feel a bit sorry for them as they will notice it's gone. Thing is he likes to control what they eat and has a bit of a problem with them eating chocolates and sweets anyway, so he probably doesn't feel bad.

The chocolate would not be good for the kids anyway so be glad that it is gone. Get him to take them to the cinema/soft play/rollerbowl in lieu and get them their tea whilst they are out. Then put your feet up. Grin

It's the principal of the thing though. It wasn't his to take but he did so anyway.

How would he react if the children did that and took something of his?

hi BandersnatchCummerbund, he isn't possessive with his own chocolate at all but wouldn't want them to eat it all mainly as he doesn't like them having chocolate, not so much because he'd be annoyed it was all gone.

So rather than letting the DCs eat a little chocolate each day as a treat, he scoffed the lot? How selfless of him, putting their health before his.

Im glad its not just me. We had ds milkway and animal bar last night and i forgot to get rid of the evidence.

I was woken this morning with shouting "Mummy eat my xmas choclate" lots of crying and i had to go on the timeout step :(

Ds will be 4yo in two weeks. He had stoped talking to me and i had to buy him a new sonic game when we went shopping this afternoon.

I feel so bad i will never do it again Blush

I eat the DC's (6 + 4) Xmas chocolate, they don't have a clue what they've got. About to use some of it in a recipe actually.

Teeth brushing is such a PITA that I'd rather not make things worse by letting them eat leftover Xmas choc every day for weeks.

Rather than confront him directly, have a blazing row and then awkward silence all eve I was thinking maybe I could show him this, but then he'll probably think its too funny and so therefore it's ok!!
