I'm killing 5 minutes before I pick DD2 up from a club with a cup of tea and an old repeat of Escape to the Country on a random Sky channel, and a couple (middle aged, grown up kids) have just dismissed a beautiful old cottage because the bathroom was too small.

It had a toilet, sink and big roll top bath with a shower over it and a big built in storage cupboard, then the master bedroom had an en-suite. Granted it wasn't massive but it had everything you'd expect to find in a bathroom plus plenty of space to swing a few cats

What the heck do these people do in their bathrooms? What more do you need in a bathroom? Why was I watching it in the first place? Grin

that programme depresses me. they all want to downsize yet the houses are too small for them!!! yet i still watch it.

all wishful thinking isnt it?

Give me £500,000. and ill take ANYTHING in the country.

I was watching one the other day with an older couple wanting to downsize and retire in they country, yet they rejected every house as it was too small. The dining room was too small for their table, the bedroom was too small for their 'huge' bed, the living room was too small for their sofa

They don't want to downsize, they want a big house in the country manor which they think they're going to get for the same price as their 3 bed semi in town

Must stop watching it!

The last one of those property programmes I watched had a similar older couple trying to downsize. They opted for a huge house "because they needed space for the GCs to stay". Except....the GCs lived in the next road.

IME, these are all rubbish excuses, we bought the house we live in now in spite of our bedroom being too small for our stuff. Because we loved the house anyway.

You only need a bigger bathroom with young DCs - bathe one, space for the other to bumble/crawl around.

What I get even more stabby over is that wanted downunder bunch of feckless arseholes twittering on about how they aren't happy here.

I'm sure people go on Wanted Down Under to get a freebie trip to Oz

And Place in the Sun, I've never seen anyone buy anything yet.

I clearly have unhealty TV viewing habits Grin
