(Read a comment on my previous thread and it got me thinking)

I always lock the bathroom door, but I think that's just a habit because I lock it even when there's no one else in the house.

I would possibly wee in front of oh but never have done.

As for anything else - hell no.

He's pissed with me in the same room countless times but I draw the line at him having a shit whilst I'm brushing my teeth, or in the bath etc.

In a way I think it can almost kiss the romance.

Wee yes, poo no!

I get embarrassed if I use a public toilet and other people can hear me wee

(what's wrong with me?! everyone does it!)

I once leant so far forward so there wouldn't be any noise and I accidentally peed a little on my jeans - cringe haha.

Everything, but I prefer a lone poo if I'm honest. Don't care about weeing, and DH sits down for a wee, so I don't have to face a torrent of hot steamy slam in the morning if I'm brushing my teeth.

But poo's are very seldom private, as I usually have to sit there and give my opinion on a Lego jet, or rocket ship because I'm easy prey for DS.(Sitting target)

Yes to wees or tampon changing, no to poos but only because of potential smelliness, not shyness.

I don't care who can hear me in a public loo. I just do whatever I've gotta do, and be on my way.

But at home - I have only weed in front of DH years ago, when both pissed and only 1 loo. No need to do it now, and I would really rather not. But if I had to, my world probably would not end. I'd not poo in front of him, no.

Actually, I really hate it when DC come in the loo too. I know I am meant to model behaviour, or whatever that phrase is, but I want a couple of moments peace; all I ask for is a solo crap!

Of course! We've been together 28 years!

All you who claim you couldn't possibly wee or poo in front of your beloved to maintain the 'mystery' do surely realise that you are most probably farting in your sleep don't you? Grin

Having said that though a friend of my DM's did tell her that her DH had never ever seen her naked in 40 years of marriage. Now that's mystery!!

Wee yes poo no iv been with oh for 7 years and I will not go for a number 2 if he's in the house.
I haven't ever passed wind I front of him either or been sick in front or him. I just find it too shameful to do Blush
I'm the same with my dc as well just in case they shout eeeew mum u just trumped lol, I get embarrassed really easy.

I have a friend who's oh tickled her once and a trump slipped out and she got that embarrassed she attacked him (not viciously) it was rather amusing and he thought so too although I wouldn't be that bad lol.

of course we have.

One bathroom and week bladders. The cat's litter tray is in there so on occasions all three of us have occupied the bathroom simultaneously.

My toilet time is my time. I refuse to share it with anyone now the DCs are old enough to be told to go away in no uncertain times.

It's less to do with dignity or shyness, or even keeping the romance. It is everything to do with having one teeny, tiny corner of my life which is mine and mine alone.

MrsPoglesWood · 11/01/2013 01:01

Blimey baileys I hope you don't ever get Norovirus!

And I'm sorry I really don't get the shameful thing. Is your digestive system somehow different from your DH's or your DC's?

And of course you'll have passed wind in front of him. All humans fart during sleep. It's a fact of life. Babies and children fart when they're asleep. So do adults!

Have pooed in front of dh but not on purpose (in my defence I had been in itu a week prior!)

But nope, poops are for alone time only! Pee is fine tho.

No. Never. The idea that women might change their tampons in front of anyone else never mind DP's has left me truly [shocked]. Has never even crossed my mind before.

I am truly grateful that DP and my bouts of noro virus haven't overlapped. Though not at all grateful he gave it to me.

No, but my lovely DS (little git) decided to use the upstairs loo (walking past a perfectly good downstairs loo) so that he could use the toilet while I was in the bath.
I pulled the curtain across and he "Did a Father Stone" (remember the Father Ted episode where the visiting priest uses the toilet and has a dump?)

He laughs like a drain Hmm

No . Just no . His farts are bad enough to live with , being in the same room as the cause ... !

We have 3 loos in the house , why does everyone want the one I'm in ?

PuddingsAndPies · 11/01/2013 01:23

When it's just me & DP in the house, we rarely close the door. I happily wee in front of him. I would always try to avoid pooing in front of him, but would do so if necessary (like if he was helping me in labour, etc) without much embarrassment.

I also change my tampon in front of him. In fact once he asked to watch more closely, out of curiosity. I let him. Maybe we are strangely open about these things, on reflection!

On our 4th date, I got so ridiculously drunk that I ended up naked & vomiting on the bathroom floor. Then slept there most of the night. Not my proudest or classiest moment, but it did rather set the tone Grin

Just asked DH if he would be put off by my pooing in front of him. Response was 'I don't want to smell the waft or hear the plop.' Charming.

Would prefer to conduct all toileting acts in private, but Dh likes to sing ' Tinkle tinkle little star' if he hears anything through the door. And eldest daughter likes to try to push me off the toilet so she can play drums on the lid.

I have a bladder the size of a pea and we used to only have one bathroom so we often overlapped. Typically now I have my morning wee while he's in the shower.

Haven't ever poo'd in front of him but he has in front of me. Thats to do with I can't poo (except when in norovirus type situations) when anyone is even outside the door. I can only poo at home or whatever is our home at the time. So I don't mind going in our hotel room but I couldn't go in say the hotels lobby toilets.

Wouldn't be embarrassed to change tampon in front of him but I never could because the man is so bloody squeamish the blood from a minor papercut results in him going a nasty green colour and needing a sit down, it would just be too much of a palava.

Can't see what the big deal is, this is someone who spends quite a bit of time with his face around my nether regions.

To be honest I think the sooner you get used to each other's erm intimate moments the better. When you've been together 10+ years it shouldn't be a surprise that you poo, have the runs, fart or vomit. We all do it and witnessing it the odd time isn't going to suddenly kill the love and affection. And if it does then there's something wrong with you to be honest.

I think mine and DP's relationship is so much the better for it. There is no sneaking about, holding out for a poo for hours til one of us leaves the house, pretending we don't fart or anything like that. We are just open, honest and most often have a laugh about it.

I would absolutely hate to be in the position of my BF's parents who maintained the facade for years that neither weed, pooed, farted or vomited until her DF was diagnosed with cancer. Her DM then had to nurse him after surgery and through radiotherapy and chemo when he lost every ounce of dignity he had strived to maintain through 50 years of marriage. Having to care for him intimately - cleaning and toileting him and ultimately changing his colostomy bag - was as hard for her as having to watch him go through the treatments.

And if me and DP seeing each other on the loo saves us from that trauma then I'm glad!
