to think MN shouldn't support boots co-advertising newborn bottle sets and "follow on" milk

ICBINEG · 10/01/2013 12:30

when there's a national campaign on to promote BF?

Presumably this advert passes the letter of the law regarding the non-advertising/non-special offers on formula for new born's but it defies the spirit in every way possible.

AIBU to expect a little more social responsibility from MN?

Morris My posts too. And I'm a lecturer. I really should be ashamed of myself.

Sure I told someone to piss off, earlier.

Women have a choice on how to feed their baby. Why should it seem they do not by the banning of anything showing the option of formula feeding. It's ridiculous.

JumpHerWho · 10/01/2013 22:20

Is 1 to young for a sledge do you think? A random thing about having a child that you don't really think about til you have one is that seasonal things have to be done ASAP because a year is a long time to wait! We didn't take him to the beach Sad

mrsjay · 10/01/2013 22:20

Downhill on a sledge!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hangs on behind pickled weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

PickledInAPearTree · 10/01/2013 22:20

Moominsarescary · 10/01/2013 22:20

CheckpointCharlie · 10/01/2013 22:21

Can I just say that icbineg is one of my favourite MNetters and I love her a lot?

Ameybee · 10/01/2013 22:21

Funny how formula is portrayed as so unnatural (by a minority) in this thread yet its ok to take totally man made anti-depressants which could be deemed 'unnatural'

By the way I am neither anti formula or anti anti-depressents and have used both Grin

mrsjay · 10/01/2013 22:21

I have seen teeny tiny sledges can't remember where though sorry I did see them maybe sainsbury

eee in my day you went down hills on tea trays

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2013 22:21

I was wondering if 1 was too little for a sledge

He'd probably love it but also fall off

SirBoobAlot · 10/01/2013 22:21

It is the formula companies that perpetrate the myths that very often make women feel that they should formula feed, so I would disagree with you on that point.

Point out the facts, by all means. And even go as far as to feel frustrated by other people's actions. But also remember you are not them, you haven't been where they were, you haven't had the same (sometimes factually incorrect) information they have. For example, breastfeeding does reduce the risk of PND, but if you are not getting the support you need, professionally and personally, get incorrect of medical information regarding ADs, and are told that if you stop breastfeeding, then you will feel better, it is very easy to see why you will listen to that.

You will achieve no support for breastfeeding, and no one willing to listen to the risks of formula feeding if you are simply screeching insults at them.

Step back, and reconsider the way you are phrasing your posts.

MorrisZapp · 10/01/2013 22:22

Yup, they are a pair of socks.

Oh, and the maths lecturer did it.

Three murders over two days, yet he seemed so nice. Fox had his work cut out there... mmmm...
