rather than one that looks like it belongs in a porn movie and that doesn't keep everything covered when i move around?

I was going to suggest a white one with gold hoop fastenings.

Jins · 10/01/2013 14:09

I can't swim in bikinis at all so wouldn't have a clue what to suggest. Even tankinis get in the way

GlobalDisaster · 10/01/2013 14:16

What about a cossie with straps and cut out bits like waders have.

JustinMumsnot · 10/01/2013 14:17

What size are you. I am, ahem, ample of bosom, and find that brands like Fantasie, Freya and Panache tend to stay put well. I need to buy cup size bikinis but they do other style for the less scarily endowed. Belle Lingerie is good.
I would rather have one bikini like that than three cheaper ones.

Backtobedlam · 10/01/2013 14:39

I don't find any bikinis comfortable to swim in really, I have quite small boobs but have never found one. I always thought they were just for lounging around on the beach/by the pool. Actual swimming I always pull a rash best over the top.

Katiepoes · 10/01/2013 14:42

Seafolly. Pricey but worth it - I have 34E boobs and mine still does the job. I have two, both bought in the sales.

samandi · 10/01/2013 17:00

Thanks for suggestions :-) Backtobedlam - maybe that's just it, they aren't designed for swimming in. What is a "rash best" though? :-) I hadn't really thought about putting a vest over for swimming in, if that's what you meant. Waterproof vests?

Just find it really frustrating that so many websites go on about how to enhance your shape and push your tits out blah blah but don't even mention comfort or function. FGS who wants a padded underwired bikini top?!

BTW I am certainly not well endowed ...

Why do want a bikini for swimming in? I have bikinis for the beach and a cossie for swimming, the odd odd odd person wearing a bikini in a swimming pool either look totally uncomfortable and don't swim or have very very big bikinis which kind of defeats the point of it IMO.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 10/01/2013 17:09

I just want a bikini Sad < too fat>

samandi · 11/01/2013 08:35

Why do want a bikini for swimming in? I have bikinis for the beach and a cossie for swimming,

Because I want to swim at the beach and outdoor pools, where I also want to lounge around sunbathing. Don't you swim at the beach?

What I would quite like is a nice pair of swmming shorts and a sturdy halter neck top, or something along those lines.

samandi · 11/01/2013 08:45

Ah, I think I might have found some. I was looking for bikini shorts, maybe I should just have looked for swimming shorts :-)

What about some thing like this fatface

speedo

Springhasarrived · 11/01/2013 09:15

Try Moontide.

A lot of them have no wire or indeed clips but work with ties so you can adjust them and tighten when in the water. Very comfortable and they do reversible ones because they can.(with not having proper fastenings.)

I think they are an Australia brand and aimed at surfers.

Bunbaker · 11/01/2013 09:21

"FGS who wants a padded underwired bikini top?!"

Those of us who aren't well endowed of course, why else? I look like a boy without extra help.

Backtobedlam · 11/01/2013 10:20

That was supposed to say 'rash vest' sorry! It's like a t.shirt, designed to go under wetsuits or for surfing so you don't get a rash on your chest. They keep me warmer a bit warmer as well when the water cool. I'd love a bikini that I could safely swim in without a vest, but even my tankini's are dodgy.

InNeedOfBrandy · 11/01/2013 13:52

No I only jump waves with the dc in the sea or body board with a wetsuit.

Halter neck with shorts sounds nice, I thought you meant itsie ditsie string bikinis, be careful though I remember being 15 and in the swimming pool with a a bra type of bikini, went down the slide and off came the bikini, didn't even realise till I surfaced Blush
