Should i shave my legs to be Mum of the Bride?

I have never shaved any part of my body except my bikini line but my dd id getting married in 71 days and my legs will be out! This is rare as i do not own a dress or skirt.
I know ladies legs are expected to be smooth and hairless. Will the hair grow back thicker? Can i get away with bleaching and how easy/ safe is it?
Or should i just leave it and hope all eyes will be solely on the Happy Couple??

If you are attempting to use the sociolect of the young Resolut you are failing miserably.
Yes Ariel, thank you, it was a bitchy comment. I just wonder what sort of life some people must live Hmm

amillionyears · 06/01/2013 21:20

amillionyears · 06/01/2013 21:20

if we are allowed to play, we can play

ResolutelyCheeky · 06/01/2013 21:28

The kind of life where I don't come onto aibu and ask personal grooming questions written in text speak.
Hth

FrostyWindMadeMoan · 06/01/2013 21:28

So, 6 hairs in one pit and 14 in the other.

How many hairs on each leg (approx ) ? Then we can decide if you do need to shave.

greeneyed · 06/01/2013 21:35

Yes well spotted!

Blatherskite · 06/01/2013 21:39
Hmm

Hello there

We have no reason to think that the OP isn't genuine, so we'd appreciate it if you could rein in the Hmm faces and the troll-hunting, as per our Talk Guidelines.

Thanks.

amillionyears · 06/01/2013 21:47

Ok
Sorry Boardie girl
Sorry MNHQ

Meglet · 06/01/2013 21:51

Just wear trousers.

My mum wore trousers when my sister got married.

A quick 5 min search before you Hmm would show you the OP is active in dozens of discussions going back at least 6 months, uses text speak often, and talks about grown-up children elsewhere... No trip-trapping to be heard anywhere.

Boardie, if you're wearing tights, try them on a couple of days before, and see if you're happy with how your legs look and feel - then shave if not. (Several disposable razors in the shower with plenty of soap! Grin )

I shave my legs in summer but not generally in winter, so I can reassure you that the hair doesn't grow back thicker/darker each year. :)

marquesas · 07/01/2013 10:14

Whether you believe the OP or not I'm surprised that people don't know that you're not allowed to call troll or post sceptical faces.

Boardiegirl · 07/01/2013 22:25

You can get those sandpaper mitts - they'll thin out and remove whirs and they won't look any coarser growing back. Also they're great for exfoliating.

sandy mitts

They work on my legs fine (very hairy, yeti like growth)

MamaMumra · 07/01/2013 22:37

Hairs not whirs

EnjoyResponsibly · 07/01/2013 23:09

OP since you've obviously nade a huge departure from the norm in wearing a dress I think, yes, go the whole hog and wax your pins too.

I meet lots of ladies like you (I work in a dress shop) who typically wouldn't be seen dead in a dress, hat, heels etc. But i have come to the conclusion from talking to them that a DDs wedding is not a normal day. It's a big day for you too in getting her this far in her life.

Push the bloody boat out! Have a lovely day (smile)
