To threaten 'D'H with divorce if he ever refers to Labyrinth as "that rubbish" again.

DD and I love to sit and watch Labyrinth, we both love the Goblin King (albeit for different reasons as she is 5, and I am... not).

DH has declared it rubbish, I am most put out - I may have been cross about it for hours now - as even without Bowie appeal I think it's a fabulously imaginative film that definitely stands the test of time.

He thinks she should be watching something a bit more modern.

I think he's being a twat and thoroughly enjoy loud tuneless renditions of 'Dance Magic' with DD.

I am considering divorcing him for his clear lack of taste lighthearted threat... maybe

The Sound of Music? Very scary?

Really don't seem to fit well together.

The escape really isn't "very scary".

misterwife · 03/01/2013 06:07

You can't not like Labyrinth! Have your DH 'assigned for reconditioning' or something.

HeadingHome · 03/01/2013 06:14

I was terrified of the Labyrinth. It scared me so much I was never, ever mean to my little sister.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 03/01/2013 06:25

LTB.
Or call on the goblins for help, say the right words & they'll take DH to the Goblin City & you can be free!

My DH hates the Snowman, he says it's because it's boring, I think it's because he's a soulless blackhole of hatred & despair.

HappyNewHissy · 03/01/2013 07:36

Can't bear Bowie tbh...

Ariel21 · 03/01/2013 08:10

YANBU - I would consider divorcing my husband if he dared to knock the Bowie. Bought Labyrinth for my DSD's stocking, she's 7 and had never seen it. She loved it, was most concerned for poor Toby and didn't want him to turn into a goblin, but I assured her that she was loving his time with the goblins, dance magic dance!

NotLongUntilXmas · 03/01/2013 08:16

tallalime I taught my children that song too, they love it.

RobotLover68 · 03/01/2013 08:26

Pilfette · 03/01/2013 08:28

How is that possible??

onetiredmummy · 03/01/2013 08:29

Ah I haven't seen Labyrinth for years, when I was little I loved the fox that rides the dog. Ambrosius & Sir Diddymus is it?

Theicingontop · 03/01/2013 08:30

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 03/01/2013 08:34

Your dh is a knob with no taste btw

onetiredmummy · 03/01/2013 08:37

I prefer him in the blue tights rather than the feather ensemble at the end!

Kirk1 · 03/01/2013 17:55

Hmm, Dream sequence Bowie, all black and brooding. Your DH has no taste OP tell him to get lost...

SparklingSnow · 03/01/2013 17:57

I LOVE Labyrinth.

Also a fan of dream sequence Bowie - all torn between his natural goblinny badness and his love for her.
