To be fed up of being 'entertained' by war themed film/tv

I went to see The Hobbit yesterday and was disappointed that what I remember as a fairly gentle adventure has turned into full blood and guts fightfest.
Stop it now, that's enough. I am not watching any more.

Um, you remember wrong. The Hobbit is not a gentle adventure. They did add some stuff, but for the most part, it was straight from the book.

Also, war is interesting. And exciting. So it's not leaving fiction any time soon. Feel free to read Anne of Green Gables instead, if you like.

I've read the book, and saw the film the other day, and thought it was an excellent interpretation of the book. Have you re read the book recently?

Well in my book, the goblin confrontation amounts to one page. Goblin king killed with eleven swords, then dwarves escape in darkness with goblins following them. < knits pacifist jumper> I don't want a fight about it though.
