popcorn?

Just wondered if I am the only one who thinks this!

Not the only one, both my DS's first morning nappies have smelled like popcorn.

I wonder why that is?

Ha! It really does! I call my babies "popcorn butt" when they need changing. So strange.

Fab. Didnt think anyone would agree. Was too embarrassed to ask anyone in real life! Perhaps there is a scientific reason.

It's the reaction of ammonia with whatever is in the disposable nappy. Cloth morning nappies just smell of ammonia but dispys defo smell like popcorn.

YY to the smell of popcorn! Mine have all been out of nappies for years but I noticed this too and thought I just had weird, popcorn-wee babies.

I've noticed this with DS4, thought the nappies (Pampers) probably have Maize/corn fibres in the filling or the cover, hence the smell?

Oh I wish! Both my DD's have always had foul smelling wee! And different nappy brands make little difference. I used to dread the morning nappy with DD1 when I was pregnant with DD2 < boak >

Once they stopped poo-ing overnight we put them in washable nappies and sadly those just smell of wee, as the other poster said.

I have a popcorn boy. Dd never had popcorn nappies.

though iv used tesco value pampers dry ones on ds2 and wee just smells like pooh In them

It probably is all the Nappies. I just notice it more in the first one in the morning cos it's so full of wee.

Yes! I have a DS. I also used to think when he was ebf that those nappies smelled lovely, like fresh bread sort of smell. Just wee though, poo has never smelled great.

Sometimes I find it smells of bacon frazzles. Mine too at times.

It used to when DD was a baby, but once she was weaned that first thing in the morning popcorn smell changed to bottom of a hamster cage that needs cleaning out smell.

It's not nice.
