To ask why people are awake at this ungodly hour

(purely out of interest/boredem)

I can't sleep. I did a silly thing this morning and had a lay in. I didn't have ds and so didn't set my alarm. I woke at 1:15pm (i don't think I've done that since I, well, never, probably not even as a teen, my mother would never have allowed it).
Now I'm paying the consequences, I've been in bed since 11pm and I'm wide awake. I've tossed and turned, I put the telly on, I've read, I've laid like a plank etc but alas nothing.

Why are you awake?

Ellypoo · 30/12/2012 03:20

Just can't sleep - been a very tough day emotionally and can't switch off Hmm. Will go downstairs & put tv on shortly I think.

LovesBeingAtHomeForChristmas · 30/12/2012 03:20

Ellypoo · 30/12/2012 03:26

Thanks wtw, don't know what I expected really, but we have got through it at least. Just got to get 31st out of way, then all the '1sts' are over with I guess. Hope you're ok and that H is just having a blip tonight x

Whatevertheweather · 30/12/2012 03:28

Yes I think just getting through it is the best you can expect. Suspect I may have bought this on myself as I was awake watching her breathe and she stirred, saw me and decided it was play time!

SquinkiesRule · 30/12/2012 03:29

Different time zone for me, it's only 7.30pm time for Dd to go to bed.

LovesBeingAtHomeForChristmas · 30/12/2012 03:29

lollystix · 30/12/2012 03:30

Middle of the afternoon here in NZ

AdoraJingleBells · 30/12/2012 03:31

I'm avoiding fecking mosquitos. It's only 12.30 here Latin America, but I'm dog tired and pissed off about the mozzies. Someone left the light on with the window open. It's 28C in my bedroom. I'm tempted to sleep on the sofa.

mangohedgehog · 30/12/2012 03:33

milli2512 · 30/12/2012 03:36

Feeding 9 week old DS. fingers crossed he goes back down for a few more hours.

MaggieMaggieMaggieMcGill · 30/12/2012 03:38

Different time zone!

CoolaYuleA · 30/12/2012 03:38

Was planning on going to bed MUCH earlier than this but decided to check my email. Lo and behold email from National Lottery with "news" about my ticket.

Went to log on - their site is down and has been for over three hours now I keep clicking.

Annoying thing is I will more than likely have won £2. I usually do. Which would be a really shit hourly rate for sitting here clicking on their site.

I just want to knoooooooooooooooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaargh.

IDontKnowWhereMyMedalsAre · 30/12/2012 03:41

Different time zone, just getting up for work. Had a lay in today as we normally leave the house at 7.05 but with it being school holidays it's shorter hours so going for an 8.30 start. Hope you all get to sleep soon.

2 year old in our bed woke me up, getting pissed right off with this, I have no where to sleep, she has taken it over Angry

icovetthee · 30/12/2012 03:54

I can't sleep either so I painted my nails and watched This Is 40. I intend to go to bed once my nails are dry to try to get some sleep as DP is intending to be out early tomorrow which means a lovely 7am wake up call. Bollocks.
