Thank you and merry Christmas to you too,DS has autism and is 8.this is the first year he's excited that santas coming :)

IneedAsockamnesty · 24/12/2012 23:58

Merry Christmas.

This is the first year my adult children have come back home to help out with the younger ones.

So I'm hoping all the kids with ASD will cope with the changes the day brings

DrCoconut · 25/12/2012 00:08

DS1 has had his "not very well" that he gets when a situation is a bit much for him but he is ok now. He's 14 and generally able to cope better with things these days.

Shellywelly1973 · 25/12/2012 00:37

Ds7 has a dx of ASD & ADHD.

Sleeping&eating have gone to pot surviving on eggs& noodles, he's been off school for a week,2 weeks til he goes back!

Tom he will have noodles or eggs for dinner. The routines will change as little as possible...

Its exhausting, yesterday he only slept 5hours out of 24.

But Im very realistic about Christmas now. It can be incredibly lonely. I miss how Christmas used to be, loads of visitors and socializing.

I just try to make the best of it¬ go totally mad!

Best wishes to all the SEN Mums...look after yourselves.

AmIthatTinselly · 25/12/2012 01:36

Best wishes and love to you all.

DD now sleeping and presents wrapped. She knows it's me, but she is still unbelievably excited and I bet we'll be up in about 4 hours Sad

We are spending the day with family and she is so looking forward to seeing her cousins.

We'll take each day as it comes, hopefully she will enjoy the break

Ilovecake1 · 25/12/2012 01:41

We are still up building an ELC mansion!!! DC sleeping since 10. Merry christmas to you all.

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/12/2012 01:57

I have been on MN officially a very short time though I lurked for a long time beforehand. I have learnt so much.

I 100% echo your sentiments OP.

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/12/2012 01:57

Sunnywithachanceofjinglebells · 25/12/2012 02:04

KentuckyFriedChildren · 25/12/2012 02:16

Thankyou and merry christmas!! Ds is excited about christmas and fingers xd it wont get too much for him. He got a bit over excited earlier and had a bit of a meltdown though thankfully nothing too major. I hope everyones day runs as smoothly as possible. With any luck we'll all come out of it with smiles on our faces :) Flowers Wine

tallwivglasses · 25/12/2012 02:25

How nice to unite! Thanks for the thread OP. DS has a cold and went to bed really early. He's 13 and I think would prefer the swimming baths to be open than Christmas. He goes to residential in January so this holiday marks the end of an era in a way. Happy Christmas everyone. I hope the day isn't too stressful Xmas Smile

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/12/2012 03:54

MsNobodyAgain · 25/12/2012 05:54

Thanks. DS2s OCD has gone into overdrive over the holidays but I know he'll love today (then retreat to his room to rock quietly) Xmas Grin

Merry Christmas.

HollyMadison · 25/12/2012 06:39

Merry Christmas wonderful caring mothers. I hope your day brings joy and relaxation x

TheNebulousBoojum · 25/12/2012 08:39

Yes, a very happy Christmas to everyone. Smile
Fortunately DS has restricted his tinsel obsession to his own room, so we can walk around without sunglasses.
He and DD went final Christmas shopping yesterday for hours and all was well and happy when they returned, both carolling, although she did say that some of his gift choices are...interesting.
May next year be uneventful. I've had enough exciting challenges this year.

AmberLeaf · 25/12/2012 08:53

Thanks and merry christmas all!

Had about 2 hours sleep here.

First year he doesnt believe in father christmas, once he got over the betrayal of me lying to him about it all his life he was fine Smile

He'll be eating his usual and not roast turkey today!

PfftTheMagicDraco · 25/12/2012 08:56

Merry Christmas to you all. H mistakenly bought a stocking filler for DS, and when I looked at it, I knew it was a mistake, but I was too late - a tin with a lid, and when you opened it a snake jumped out. The poor boy was terrified.

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 25/12/2012 09:53

Dd is 4 and has ASD. I think we've been very lucky this year, she's relatively left the tree alone, and opened carefully selected presents. It's lovely to see her pay attention to each present, makes a change from the other dc ripping open theirs at super fast speed.
I hope everyone else has an uneventful day.

lionheart · 25/12/2012 19:11

Thanks.

And for you. Thanks
