AIBU to think that the ending to The Snowan and The Snowdog was even more of a tearjerker than The Snowman?

Well am I? Wasn't that keen on the flight sequence though and nor were the DCs, what did you all think?

I thought it was lovely but it made me cry. Kids were fine, just me sitting crying with them kissing me!

Moominsarehippos · 24/12/2012 20:47

Dead dog, then dead snowman! I had already had most of a bottle of champers and was blubbing!

Lizzylou · 24/12/2012 20:47

Ds2 was crying, which made me cry. I did have a tear when he buried his dog at the start. No idea why, dislike dogs really. Must be the gin.
I liked it.

JenaiMathis · 24/12/2012 20:48

I'm still sobbing quietly Xmas Blush Wine

Squeegle · 24/12/2012 20:49

Me too, wept most of the way through
Unlike my DCs who found it most amusing that I was sad!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 24/12/2012 20:49

His dog died in the first few minutes! Son was most disgruntled, also when the snowman had melted at the end. Why was it on at 8? Seemed a bit late, although not much chance of anyone falling asleep yet here...

TheFollyfootandtheivy · 24/12/2012 20:49

Was going to watch this, but having lost our beloved dog earlier this year, its a no-no having read what happens Sad

ouryve · 24/12/2012 20:50

I might have had the start of a cold while I was watching it.

OliviaPeaceOnMumsnet · 24/12/2012 20:51

YANBU

YourHandInMyHand · 24/12/2012 20:53

DS had great big wracking sobs for over 20 minutes! Sad He watches the original all year round and loves that one. I think the snowdog coming to life got his hopes up!

Sunnywithachanceofjinglebells · 24/12/2012 21:14

YANBU. I cried like a baby.

NolittleBuddahsorTigerMomshere · 24/12/2012 21:15

Glad it wasn't just me! The DCs cried too, but DH was definitely dry eyed heartless bastard sensible soul.

Im so glad it wasnt just me who cried. I was watching and i havent even got children.

InNeedOfBrandyButter · 24/12/2012 21:23

I must be heartless we watched it and I was bored, the snowman bores me to.

Sunnywithachanceofjinglebells · 24/12/2012 21:53

I don't have children either darkest.

I took my DNiece and DNeph to see Narnia a few years ago. I worried that DNiece (then 6 years old) would be upset when Aslan died.

Nope. She was fine. Auntie Sunny sobbed into her hair.

scripsi · 24/12/2012 21:58

Was wondering about watching this but decided not to just in case: I have recorded it though. Is it not at all feel good?

LiveItUp · 24/12/2012 22:03

It had me from the moment I realised the dog died Xmas Sad near the start.

JeezyOrangePips · 24/12/2012 22:06

I feel like a heartless cow. I laughed at the ending. The dog looking forlorn at a pile of melting snow. It was utter tosh.

FeelingFestiveCheerMum · 24/12/2012 22:13

Omg, we sky+'d it so we could cry watch merlin, now I am dreading watching it tomorrow

Moominsarehippos · 24/12/2012 23:08

Never ever watch the Polar Bear then. It's a real blub-fest!
