Is it heck not Christmas, crack open the grub cupboards , we I'd (about 2 days ago!)

RobotLover68 · 24/12/2012 18:11

I've had posh crisps and Maltesers and wine - it's officially Christmas

NettoHoHoHoSuperstar · 24/12/2012 18:12

I've started on the cheese, pate, crackers and fancy crisps.
I let DD open the tin of biscuits.
We're moving on 3rd January and have a ridiculous amount of food.

RedHelenB · 24/12/2012 18:13

I'm almost through my first pack of mince pies & Christmas pate & chocs already open!! Tell your dh he's a grinch!!!

LatteLady · 24/12/2012 18:16

The official start time is 6.00pm on Christmas Eve... I know this cos my mum told me when I was little... Back then we would decorate the top of the sideboard (see how ancient I am, no-one has them now) with all the good stuff, apples and pears from the trees in the garden, polished up, dates stuffed with marzipan (for my mum), Christmas cake, chocolate log, satsumas, oranges and grapes. At 6.00pm you could start... and that is when the sausage rolls and mincepies emerged from the kitchen.

So tell you OH, you can start, cos my mum said so and she knew everything!

NettoHoHoHoSuperstar · 24/12/2012 18:18

Oh yes, opened the mince pies too.

WhereDoesPerryKeepHisHat · 24/12/2012 18:20

We started on ours when the kids broke up on Friday, apart from the mince pies which I've been eating since I baked them last weekend Xmas Grin

SoleSource · 24/12/2012 18:23

LatteLady that sounds just perfect. :) Envy

freddiefrog · 24/12/2012 18:23

Have wrestled the mince pies from his grasp!!!!

Have also noticed some empty tree chocolate wrappers hanging on the tree so I think the kids had already started, they're just more stealthy than me

bedmonster · 24/12/2012 18:44

I presume you mean early for next year? We cracked open the Xmas chocs and wine in November and have bought them all about 3 times since!! Get a bloody move on. And handcuff Dp out in the shed.

freddiefrog · 24/12/2012 18:48

We did hit the Quality Street early, I've replaced the tin about 4 times.

I've had a stinker of a cold and had no interest in food at all, let alone Christmas food

YANBU

In some ways I love Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day.

As soon as it goes dark, lights are on and it is officially Christmas in this house.

Enjoy! Wine

HeadfirstForAMistletoeKiss · 24/12/2012 18:50

I've hit the Xmas port!

BigBoPeep · 24/12/2012 18:53

it's requiring ALL of my willpower not to crack open my special Big Day jellybeans. and/or eating my BILs giant pack of smarties we got him.

priscilla101 · 24/12/2012 19:00

One giant tin of heroes? Down the hatch already!
