To think I could have found a better way to celebrate the end of term?

Two glasses of wine in the staff room at half three, home at half four, and asleep on the sofa by half six... Only awakening five hours later once I realised I was hungry... It's been a long term! Although I did also have pizza with my tutor group, so I guess that's probably the most energetic bit of Christmas partying I have done so far.

AIBU/AIB a boring old fart before my time to be considering a three-day state of hibernation before Christmas morning?

That is sad!
Although the 3 day hibernation sounds tempting to me.

I'm so shattered by the end of this term, that sounds fine to me! I'm more tired now than at the end of any other term, owing to the winter darkness and weather.

We finished at noon, went for lunch, I did some food shopping, was home by four and collapsed on the sofa. Xmas Smile

This term was 15 weeks long!

YANBU to be shattered, I have yet to get out of the manic phase, reckon it'll take until Boxing Day before I calm down.

It has been a horribly long term! Kids had had enough and teachers had certainly had enough.

I finished at noon yesterday, my DH was going to be at home in the afternoon too so we were going to have a nice afternoon together. As soon as I got in, I flopped down on to the sofa next to him, next thing I knew, it was quarter to 5!

I think we all deserve a few days of hibernation.

Next term will be a lot better. Don't know about your school, but we have 6 weeks, then half term, then 5 weeks! Will be bliss!

Have a lovely Christmas break!

We don't do half term in Scotland. Sad

A twelve-week term with a long weekend in February beckons. Yikes!

unheard of, the head let us out of staff meeting before the official end of the school day. the children always leave at lunchtime when its Christmas, but staff have to stay to the bitter end. the meeting, 'mock social', is to ensure everyone is accounted for and no-one slips away. except yesterday. he let us go an hour and a half early.
i had a lovely evening, babysitting my delightful little grandaughter. not a tear or a cross word, despite mummy and daddy going out and grandma being the only 'dadadadee' (adult in charge) left in the place. all was well.

I've got no marking, prep, admin or feedback to do for 2 weeks Shock

Not quite sure what to do with my free time now! so i'll waste it on here

YANBU to be tired but spare a thought for retail staff.

They mostly look too busy to shit and they'll be back in again on Boxing Day or straight after for the sales.
