If we really think about it we don't strictly need,

Heat
Light other that natural light
Hot water
Fuck it generations ago they coped without any running water

Every poor person should be issued with a food box and instructions on what day to eat what two blankets per family member and a bucket. And that's it. Perhaps we should brand them as well.

Because that will change public perception, or we could just ignore all the crap the gov encourage people to perpetuate as it helps there agenda.

The big issue with council tax benefit changes is that most councils will not be able to afford to pursue those who don't pay the small contribution which is likely to get allocated to them. With the impact of other cuts hitting them and a direct choice between paying a contribution to council tax and feeding a family most people will ignore the council tax.

This will lead to more cuts in services as councils face a reduced income .

CurrentBun · 22/12/2012 11:41

Your dead right there Jake and those that are chased won't be able to afford even reduced payments so the money spent pursuing them is more money down the drain.

I might consider a career change to Baliff. Seems they're the ones looking to get busier soon.

Fairly recently the lovely Mr Duncan Smith said that 'heating is a luxury that only those working should be afforded'!

Please provide a link for this yaimee

MoomieAndFreddie · 22/12/2012 18:51

no way, that can't be right re IDS saying that even if he thinks it which i bet he does ??? Shock

MurderOfGoths · 22/12/2012 21:40

I think IDS is the cunt of cunts, but that quote sounds a little unlikely.

AudrinaWhiteChristmasAdare · 22/12/2012 22:22

I think it might come from this where he was saying that a non means-tested winter fuel allowance is an unaffordable luxury.

I totally agree with the cunt Shock

expatinscotland · 22/12/2012 22:37

I completely agree with linking Winter Fuel Allowance to those who are already in the system claiming Pension Tax Credit and abolishing it for everyone else and also abolishing free bus passes. Since you have to go into the local bus office to get the pass, then you can trot over there with a letter saying you're in receipt of a qualifying benefit, like Pension Tax Credit or DLA. Otherwise, stump up like everyone else.

I would'nt be doing anything for your mum, You have suffered hardship in childhood and you still help her?

I would'nt hesitate to cast her right out of it

FlorriesDragons · 01/02/2013 20:30

If I was on benefits in this climate I'd bloody well need a bottle of wine every week to deal with all the judgement aimed at me.

I work in a benefits office. I really wish an MP or two would come and sit next to me for a week.

lazybastard · 01/02/2013 20:41

I'm really sick of having to justify myself. I work, study (to try and get a better) job, job hunt, look after my children, and my mum.

I do not smoke, drink or take drugs, don't have Sky TV, go on holiday. So why do I have to listen to people going on at me for being irresponsible and selfish for spending money on things I never spend money on.

When you get a letter making you redundant and your p45 there isn't a clause in them saying 'you are no longer a human being'. So why are you suddenly regarded by so many as sub-human?

AllDirections · 01/02/2013 23:12

MiniTheMinx I'd vote for you too Smile
