....after having the annual flurry of texts asking for my address?

Do people not have address books these days?

I can never find my book until the new year when it's too late! Doesn't take much to text your address does it, you miserable baggage Wink

FrazzleRock · 20/12/2012 12:49

Every year though? So far I've counted six people this year....

Yes, because if they texted they ought to put your address in their smart phone.

I don't have a paper address book, just the file on the computer I use to print Christmas card labels.

Just stick your address in your phone as a note or template and then you send it them without retuning it.

YANBU. Not only do I get long term friends asking for my own address, but I also get them and family members asking for everybody's else addresses too. It's a chore to email and text addresses I've had to look up for other people who can't be bothered or who say "what am I like? I'm so scatty"

MonkeyRisotto · 20/12/2012 13:52

YABU, they should store them on Google Contacts and sync to their phones. It's the 21st century...

cheekybaubles · 20/12/2012 13:56

Just send it one last time and ask them to store it on their phone address book. If they don't then you have the choice of not receiving any more cards.

valiumredhead · 20/12/2012 13:56

I have a crap brick like phone that barely texts let alone stores anything!

cheekybaubles · 20/12/2012 14:13

valium, that is not very 'real housewives' now is it? (letting the side down). You can normally store addresses where you store the phone details for individuals.

RedHelenB · 20/12/2012 14:16

I love my paper address book & keep it in the hall table drawer so YANBU, I couldn't manage without mine.

Jins · 20/12/2012 14:17

That would go in the pile of things to be regifted for me Grin

JustFabulous · 20/12/2012 14:17

I have an address book which lives in my stationery box - I write letters to friends - and also have addresses in my phone so that when I go 100's of miles to visit a friend I can put someone elses postcode in the satnav to see if I am near enough to visit another friend.

JustFabulous- now YOU are organised. That's more like it.

CaliforniaSucksSnowballs · 20/12/2012 18:18

Do it, I used to have it all on my computer, that crashed everything lost, new computer with no addresses on it, I have dug out my old paper address book and updated it, it's a lifesaver.

mincepiethighs · 20/12/2012 18:34

Ugh! Paper address books and diaries. My worst nightmare.

Smartphones are the way to go...

I've just received another Christmas card for the previous owners of our house. We've been here ten years. You'd think in ten years they'd have spoken.
