to ask if you have an Instagram account, and will you be deleting it?

The social networking service which was bought by Facebook has announced plans to sell users' photos to third parties.

All my photos on there are on the private setting, which I only share with people I know.

No saying anyone would want to buy them but still ... I'm contemplating deleting my account now.

I don't use instagram but I'd sure as hell be deleting my account if I did. Can you imagine a picture of one of your children being used for advertising or marketing and you having no idea?!

I use Instagram everyday. They have an update to their terms and conditions on the news tab titled "thank you and we're listening".

It seems their wording has been misinterpreted and they are not going to sell photographs or use them in advertisements. So everyone can relax.

They haven't actually changed the new TOS, just tried to placate everyone.

So while Fakebook is right, and they are trying to calm the masses, it isn't worth anything unless they don't change the TOS.

Work advice is not to use it, even after their blog post yesterday, so I'll be deleting mine before January 17th.

It's only a New account but I opened it because instagram didn't pull this kind of shit. A few weeks later and now they do. Grrr.

And I seriously can't find the delete account button. It's like it has been hidden on purpose.

Deleted mine, going to Flickr. They've updated their app, seems good so far.

Tbh, Instagram has been shit since Facebook took over. The popular page went from nice photography to pics of tarts pouting and coffee cups. What they've done is the Facebook effect. They're going to gather up all data on users and sell it on. It's nothing new.

I'm not really worried. My pics aren't anything special anyway. They say they're going to change the wording, so let's see if they do that before January 17.

i deleted my account on Tuesday. i am not having any of it, i also dont believe their 'u turn' today.

shame as i quite liked it but it was always going to cause bother when FB took over

I'm really irritated by this Instagram change in policy. I will be deleting it before 17th January.

I got rid. I never used it.

I have an app called Snapseed ( a freebie on last year 12 days app giveaway) that works better. Gives more control of the effects you apply.
