To be fuming at the stupid, pointless call that has just woken me up

Was having a power nap-dd2 was awake between 11 and four last night. She is napping. Just woken by another stupid call that pretends to be something it's not. I thought we were ex directory. Apparently not. I'm So tired I could cry. If it were important I wouldn't mind. I just wish these people would give up.

Can you turn the ringer off and leave it to the answerphone?

Big sympathy. There may be things you can do but try and get a bit more rest first...

I hate it when it happens too.

As Imperial said, turn it off and join the Telephone Preference Service and always check the tick boxes about contact when you enter details into anything.

Must do that! Needed a bit of moan about it this morning. But actually, now I'm awake I'll get on with stuff and make myself less likely to be irritable later. Coffee. And toast. And breathe...

I agree with the suggestion of turning the ringer off.

We have the ringer off on the handset in the bedroom, and the ringer on quietly downstairs. If we're awake and upstairs, you can just about hear the downstairs ringer, but of you're asleep then it doesn't disturb you. We started that when out DCs were born :)
