To be starting to feel the same way about Emile Sande singing at events that I do about Paul McCartney...

She's just been on the Sports Awards now! Don't we have any other talent?

She was born in March 1987 (this isn't just Wikipedia - I've just looked up the record of her birth on Ancestry not that I'm a stalker or anything). So that makes her 25.

I like her.

She can sing, but she seems to be the one to hate at the moment on MN anyway

Jingleallthejay · 17/12/2012 14:43

it is only cos Adele was pregnant and had her baby Grin I quite like her although not on everything she has 40 years on sir paul when she is on something in 40yrs time singing READ ALL ABOUT it then we can moan

Jingleallthejay · 17/12/2012 14:45

I was told that she featured so heavily at the Olympics as she stood in for Adele at the last minute.

SEE IT IS ADELES FAULT

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2012 14:46

No! None of that shite!r to old for that! I don't know who exactly, but we have tonnes of amazing talent in this country. Do we really need to hear the same person again and again? How about somebody completely unknown? Someone new?

WileywithSageStuffing · 17/12/2012 14:47

Plus I think she's a pretty good role model... Sings, plays instruments, writes music was a medical student, not stick thin wig headed reality show winner...

I would rather that she stood up as an advert for GB as opposed to Cheryl Cole or the likes!

WileywithSageStuffing · 17/12/2012 14:48

What other amazing musical talent do we have out of interest racking brains but can only come up with Will Young!

Jingleallthejay · 17/12/2012 14:48

but she was unknown until the olympics I think she is great her songs are great and id rather have her than some boyband singing all time, Adele will be back with a happy baby album soon just be patient Grin

SheilaWheeler · 17/12/2012 14:53

I was thinking the other day, when the Hurricane Sandy concert was being reported on, that all the 'rock stars' on it were, ahemm, a little aged.

Who is going to replace the Stones, Springsteen and the Who?

Just another worry ...

the stones are pickled they will be around forever Grin I guess it is overkill when these singers are on everything I know i start to twitch when adele was everywhere and on everything you are going to get that until the next big thing,

OnwardBound · 17/12/2012 15:08

But don't you all know... there is NO other musical talent of note in the UK APART from Sir Paul 'Walking Dead' MaCartney!

Hmm

Well according to the unimaginative, complacent, lazy arse, dullard producers who book these acts for every event going anyway.

Jingleallthejay · 17/12/2012 15:10

SPM is seen as a national treasure or some such rubbish it is ony cos he is still alive he will be replaced with sir gary of barlow soon ,

BillyBollyBrandy · 17/12/2012 15:12

I love that whatever I am thinking there is always someone on MN thinking the same thing Grin

DH said when I commented that she was on again "well they just want to make the most of her being in the UK" Hmm

Turns out he thought it was Rihanna

WileywithSageStuffing · 17/12/2012 15:12

Oh god help us ... Gary Barlow.... Nooooooo!

OnwardBound · 17/12/2012 15:19

Jingle Sir Gary of Barlow Grin

Yes, he's also so dull and middle of the road.

A worthy successor to SPM.

Jingleallthejay · 17/12/2012 15:20

Oh god help us ... Gary Barlow.... Nooooooo!

you watch in 10 years or so he wil be belting out greatest day Grin

I did notice he was copying Paul McCartneys "piano hands" on X Factor. Cringe. Bet he does he hair transplant purple-ish next.

JingleBellaTheGymnast · 17/12/2012 15:25

Reckon she's shagging Sebastian Coe. She's awfully whiney.

Inaflap · 17/12/2012 15:35

I too inwardly groaned when I saw her. She has a very nasal and whining voice. She is better than McCartney who should have been put out to grass years ago and preferable to ghastly Cheryl.

LadyBeagleBaublesandBells · 17/12/2012 15:42

I like her.
She reminds me of Annie Lennox, maybe that's because they come from the same area though.
Can't believe the posters that have said they disliked the fact that she wasn't from London.
WTAF.
I loved the Olympics, I always have, I'm Scottish and I thought it was a British event.

EwanHoHoHozami · 17/12/2012 15:43

She'd look much more like 25 if her stylist (who should be sacked from a great height) didn't insist on dressing her up like a frumpy office temp.

MrsReiver · 17/12/2012 15:44

Speaking of Macca, have you heard about him standing in for Kurt Cobain at a Nirvana reunion?

During SPOTY one of my friends commented on FB that Ms Sande is now available for Christmas fetes and office parties as she seems to be turning up at everything these days. It is definitely getting tiresome.
