To be quite pissed of with shop assistant commenting on my spots.

Every month I get two or three spots on my face. Nothing disgusting and nothing too obvious. Or so I thought. Today I tried on a red jumper and the shop assistant told me I shouldn't buy it because it "showed up all the spots on my face". Now I feel like a greasy, spotty teenager.

Better than her saying they match your spots Grin

No i agree not her place to comment Sad

StuntGirl · 16/12/2012 21:04

I'd have complained to the manager in your position. Veyr rude of the staff member.

PessaryPam · 16/12/2012 21:04

It's Off not Of just so you know.

SantaKissedBonkeyMollocks · 16/12/2012 21:05

I would have rubbed my face on here!

Greensleeves · 16/12/2012 21:05

PessaryPedant! Grin

Very rude and insensitive of the shop assistant. I wouldn't go there again.

Fakebook · 16/12/2012 21:06

Shock Dear God noo! Please tell me where you live so I can avoid this woman! She'd have a field day with me when I get my period!

Jingleyjubblies · 16/12/2012 21:08

I know it's off and not of! I pressed the create button without checking the title line. Maybe you are the shop assistant Pessary - you have a similar disregard for manners ...

Join the club jing when I asked if I could try a dress on the shop assistant said "OK, but the changing rooms are quite small." Shock I was only a size 16 FFS!

TheQueensChristmasDinner · 16/12/2012 21:09

What a bitch! Not sure how I would have responded but it would have upset me too.

Jingleyjubblies · 16/12/2012 21:10

I was wanting to try on a pair of wedding shoes in Jimmy Choo and I asked to see a pair of shoes that were on display in my size. the shop assistant said: "oh no, those are for people with thin feet" WTF? Don't even know what would be classed as a fat foot. Think she just didn't want to go down the stairs to the store room which was located down a long flight of stairs. She sounded really unfit as she was panting every time she came up them.

forbiddenfruit85 · 16/12/2012 23:12

Write an email of complaint to the company.

Embellish how upset you are.

They will probably send you a vouchers as way of an apology.

greenplastictrees · 16/12/2012 23:19

I was in our local corner shop. I'm always polite to the owners who work the till, say hi, ask how they are. One day I did this and we had our usual chat then he pointed to a big spot on my face (that I was very self consious about) and said "what happened to you". I could have died of embarrassment. I looked at him and said "nothing, it's a spot". I was horrified and have been less friendly since then because I don't want similar thing to happen again!

EllenParsons · 17/12/2012 00:10

Wow, that was really really rude! I would have been pissed off and felt awful. Definitely complain!

MrsMushroom · 17/12/2012 00:18

On the flip side, I have a skin condition which leaves me with a red patch on my cheek. I'm very self conscious about it and always wonder what people must think of it.

Nobody ever asks...but the other day I met DHs aunty for the first time and she said ""What's that?" and I was actually really pleased to be able to explain...then I felt it was out and she wouldn't wonder.

She had thought it was a bruise. She's the type of person who speaks her mind and I often wish more people would mention it tbh then I would not feel so self conscious.

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 17/12/2012 00:23

"could i speak to your manager please Smile" then wait while she lifts her jaw off the floor and runs off to panic if the toilets.

sympathies OP, i get monthly breakouts too. this month i got a massive painful red spot under my EYE! Confused i think it's from my new glasses, it was right where they meet my cheek. i felt so self conscious until it got big enough to pop and hide with concealer. not before EXp had seen it though. massive it was Blush
