I always hide the Christmas presents in our room. We have a loft conversion and we have attic storage behind small doors. My 9 ds was looking for his ds everywhere and 7 year old ds said he'd help to look too. Next thing I know he'd gone up to my room and had opened the door to the storage space. I am gutted. They've both seen the skylanders box, small piano keyboard, play doh set... DH is away and I've just bluffed that they are their cousins presents, that dad has bought for them and will be posting....was that good enough? Will they suss it all out....I really could cry

barbie007 are you still on here? What happened on Xmas day? Did you manage to surprise them?

QuintessentialShadows · 13/12/2013 18:54

They were looking for the nintendo ds, behind locked cupboard doors in the attic.... erm, why? Do you really buy that "explanation"?

BuntyPenfold · 13/12/2013 19:34

Oh dear, of course they were looking, sorry but honestly, they are stringing you along.

Hello OP, when they open them maybe you could say, wow FC brought you the same as your cousins. Unless they see their cousins regularly you may get away with it.
Some people tell their dc that presents are sent to FC and he delivers them.
I always told mine that I couldn't afford all the stuff they got at Christmas, when they asked if FC was real.

Zombie thread? And there's me about to tell the OP to get a bloody gripWink

Santa just gives a stocking full of gifts at our house. All the real gifts are under the tree with labels - who they are from and too. Means kids can thank the giver.

lottieandmia · 14/12/2013 22:37

I think you are overreacting. This is no big deal honestly and Christmas is about much more than presents. They will still be over the moon with what you got them. My 9 year old knows what she's getting because she specifically asked for stuff.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 14/12/2013 22:39

This is from LAST Christmas!

It is no longer a problem for the OP.

lottieandmia · 14/12/2013 22:39

Hmm next time I'll read the date Grin

Ohhhhhh don't be upset, it's part of childhood, hunting down your presents, it's really exciting to know you are actually getting the special thing you want. Its horrible trying to pretend you are surprised when you are not, even worse if you suspect your parents know your being phoney. I remember this unfortunately when my bro & sis & I "accidentally" found our presents as children we never looked again.
