To be fed up of all the dog pooh on the streets?

I know most dog owners are responsible, but I am tired of having to constantly avoid dog pooh on the streets round here.

When we used to walk up to nursery school there was absolutely loads of it, you really has to look where you were walking.

I know there isn't an easy solution, and the no fouling signs don't make any difference and there is never anyone to enforce them.

It would be nice to be able to look up when I am walking instead of constantly looking at the ground grrrrr!!

Yanbu!
This is something that I hate with a vengeance! I feel a murderous rage building when I or my children have stood in the vile stuff. I would take great pleasure in rubbing the noses of the bloody disgusting, irresponsible dog owners that just leave it there!
I second your Grrrrrr.

FierySmaug · 13/12/2012 15:03

*rubbing their noses in the poo I mean..Blush. See, just thinking about the dog poo turns me into a blithering idiot.

KellyEllyChristmasBelly · 13/12/2012 15:03

YABU for calling it pooh - that's Winnie Xmas Grin

bluecarrot · 13/12/2012 15:04

I saw an image once were someone circled the dog poo with chalk and wrote something along the lines of " thank you kind neighbour for leaving this ray of sunshine here for all to admire"

Round here most of it is by dogs who are out without an owner :(

YANBU. I witnessed a very well dressed woman letting her dog shit on the street yesterday from the passenger's seat of a car. I watched her friend offer her a bag, which she refused and they just walked on.

I wanted to scream "pick your shit up you skanky bitch!" but sadly I can't speak the language where I'm living well enough so just fumed and glared.

richardsimmonstanktop · 13/12/2012 15:06

Sigh. I worded that very badly. The dog wasn't shitting from the car. I was watching from the car.

GrimmaTheNome · 13/12/2012 15:10

Of course YANBU, which is why we get thread like this at least once a month.

There is an easy solution - dog owners should pick up the poop if its anywhere people may be walking. Most of them do.

SantaWearsGreen · 13/12/2012 15:25

There are tons of dog owners where I live and tons of dog shit as a result. There is a huge public field behind us and loads of irresponsible dog walkers has meant I simply cannot take my DC for a run around anymore because we are just forever dodging shit. It is disgusting. Not just the field, all around the streets surrounding it.

It makes me feel sick. Whenever I walk anywhere I have to walk looking down at the ground to check for shit constantly. Just urghhhhh. Why own a chuffing dog if you aren't going to PROPERLY look after it.

reastie · 13/12/2012 15:27

I'm joining you on this one after getting bleeding dog poo on the buggy wheel this morning and then all over the hall and playroom carpet Angry

nvj · 13/12/2012 16:11

Some irresponsible person let their dog poo right outside our house the other day and there is literally a dog poo bin about 20m away! I had to pick it up in a bag (still warm-ewwww!) and put it in there and then boil the kettle 3 times to rinse the rest away. Gagged numerous times. Absolutely disgusting!! YANBU!!

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 13/12/2012 16:17

YANBU

I am a dog owner and pick up all the time. It's gross and makes me heave sometimes, but it has to be done. It's makes me extremely angry when other owners shirk their responsibilities. Thankfully I now live in a place where everyone clears up after their pooches.

NiniLegsInTheAir · 13/12/2012 16:29

I find it's always harder to spot this time of year too, as the leaves are on the ground. Sad

FeistyLass · 13/12/2012 16:30

YANBU - I was sitting with ds sleeping on my lap this afternoon when I noticed someone standing right outside my window. Turns out a man had decided to walk his dog in our garden and let it do the toilet. When I knocked on the window, he just turned his back on me.
We live in a townhouse and the garden is communal to the four houses so we haven't fenced it off. However he doesn't live in any of the houses and none of us have dogs. We do have children who play outside. It made me so mad. Angry

maillotjaune · 13/12/2012 16:34

I am strangely proud of my perfect memory of all the big dog shits in the way to school, so I only need to look out for the new ones.

YANBU but you will find irresponsible people among any group whether it's dog owners, parents, drivers...I try not to get too worked up about it now.

ditavonteesed · 13/12/2012 16:38

my friend actually got called a dirty bitch for picking it up in the park, go figure. Youa re not wrong though it is disgusting and there is no need at all. I cant even work out where it comes from, I walk my dogs with loads of other people and have never seen anyone not pick it up, but someone must.

RikersBeardisFresherthanSantas · 13/12/2012 17:02

I had an amazing mental picture of a dog shitting out of a car door from a passenger seat. :)

YANBU. The other week I got poo on the buggy wheel. I was trying to get it off on some grass well away from the path. And while I was doing so stepped in some more. It was definitely a low point of my week.

cozietoesie · 13/12/2012 17:24

Me too - re the mental picture!

Yes - YANBU. And as said above, it's really difficult at this time of year. The dark lasts so long and comes in so quickly that it's almost impossible to see poo on the streets and to avoid stepping in it if it's there. I'm not saying that I avoid going out early and late just because of it but it definitely makes the trips more difficult.
