to get pissed off at people talking on their mobile when I'm in a public restroom

This mainly happens in my work loos, I go in for a pee and there is someone chatting away on the phone.

Our work toilets are small, only 3 cubicles, therefore the person on the other end is bound to hear me peeing!

AIBU or does this annoy anyone else? Why can't they go elsewhere?

YABU - just go for a wee and then you go somewhere else. Annoying yes, but if they need to speak on the phone that's up to them...and at least they wont be listening to you having a wee if they are chatting.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 13/12/2012 09:50

YABU.

The person on the phone wont hear you wee!

MayaAngelCool · 13/12/2012 09:51

YABU and highly paranoid. It's a bit irritating hearing one end of a convo when you're on the bog, but shouldn't bother you to this extent.

saycheeeeeese · 13/12/2012 09:55

I did think I was being slightly unreasonable, I have issues using public loos anyway, but this does make it worse!

Still think they could find a more appropriate place to talk on the phone :)

They'll think it's the person they're talking to.

I suggest you try to fart, as loud as you can, and then say "bloody hell, X, that stinks."

Yanbu it's fucking bizarre behaviour

saycheeeeeese · 13/12/2012 10:00

Hec that's brilliant I might actually try that one!!

MrsKeithRichards so glad I'm not the only one to think so Grin

Yanbu! I don't mind people hearing me pee if they're peeing but otherwise that's not on. We only have two cubicles and if the cleaner is in there I'll wait or go elsewhere.

bradywasmyfavouritewiseman · 13/12/2012 10:02

In my old office mobile phones were not allowed out when in the office. So people went to the toilet to save having to go out through security and than back through security again.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 13/12/2012 10:04

A bit odd but it wouldn't bother me. I like Hec's suggestion too.

saycheeeeeese · 13/12/2012 10:26

There are plenty of places in my work where people van go to talk privately on the phone, yesterday one of the main culprits wad actually sat on the loo having a pee herself, all the while talking to her friend on the phone.
