to wonder why dealing with BA is so stressful? (Or share your airline dramas here!)

Okay, not stressful on the level of a natural disaster (I have some perspective although it is fading fast, think I need a coffee) but even booking flights online with them has taken me an hour and a half and 2 calls to their customer services. And seriously $50 to prebook a seat? (and yes, I have to prebook it to be seated next to my family). Anyone care to share tales of dealing with airlines to make me feel better? (will go and have that coffee now!)

We flew home yesterday and ended up wearing lots of our clothes in order to fit the duty free we had just bought in our bag. Ryanair insist on duty free purchases being put into hand luggage from some airports. Was very irritating but expect stuff like that from Ryanair! We took off our additional layers once we got on board the plane and repacked them. Several people were having to do the same because Ryanair were insisting that items people were holding (duty free, ipads, etc...) were put in hand luggage.

I once flew on my own at 14, very upset as my boyfriend (now DH) was meant to come with me but was hospitalised before we went, and monarch (I think) wouldn't let me sit near the window 'in case some creepy guy sits next to you' which made me even more sad
Then I got lumbered next to some miserable old man who demanded I move my hand luggage from under the seat in front of me so he could stretch his legs (!!) or that I swapped seats with his wife. When I told him I could do neither as I wasn't allowed to swap and my bag was too heavy to go in the overhead compartments, he huffed and puffed and made the entire flight very unpleasant
