I'm sure this has been covered over and over but after hearing yet more bullshit on the news about Marriage I wanted to vent.

The Church did not create Marriage.

Marriage has existed probably as long as the human race in one form or another.

Religion does not have exclusivity on Marriage.

Two adults declaring their love and commitment to one another for the rest of their lives will not taint, destroy or ruin another couples Marriage

Yes, it has always existed in one form or another. However, if you wish to have a Church Wedding then you should be prepared to marry in the 'name of God'. Simple, really - no biggie!

I don't think thats the point though. The churches are constantly wittering on about the institution of marriage and what it means, and trying to prevent gay people having civil marriages. What has that got to do with them at all?
