I've moaned enough about dh on here over the years but today...

I have to admit he has been brilliant. Worked a night shift last night, got up after three hour's sleep to go and be the guy in the red cloak and white beard at the school fete, four hours later we head home (dh drove in full costume, ds and I walked back so as not to give the game away to any small children we might happen to pass). Then he insisted on visiting two sets of neighbours on the way back. One lot with two very small boys who weren't at the fete, and one lot with two small girls who were but whose parents didn't realise you need to put their names down for FC as every slot is filled up within an hour or so of the fete starting.

And he's off to do another night shift at 10pm tonight. Bless his little furry socks.

(Runs in the family, my Dad's been doing FC since I was tiny, and dh's BIL also dons a cloak at this time of year.)

Neighbour just texted me to say dh made her and her family's Christmas. He's going to be a very happy bunny when he wakes up and I pass that message on.

Is he safe to work or drive on so little sleep? But well done to him, it's nice to hear people enjoy being FC rather than being dragged into it.

Awww!
What a sweetie.

Give him a hug from me.

edam · 08/12/2012 17:16

Autumn, I know what you mean but drive to and from school is five minutes and it's all side roads. He's buzzing with the joy of it, wasn't sleepy at all. Hate to think what he'll be like at 9.15 tonight when I have to wake him up, though...

I have Done My Bit. Took ds up to school early (he's in the choir who were doing a turn), spent all day running errands and eventually got landed with running the book stall, then helped clear up. Tonight I am Off Duty. Except for ds's supper and bath and bedtime story and so on - can't really expect dh to do any of that!

Makes a nice change from saying LTB - which is all I feel I am doing right now when people are posting about their DP/DH's :(

Wine for you!!

Three cheers for your DH, and here's a mulled Wine for him, hope it stays warm long enough for when he's finally got five minutes to call his own Xmas Grin

edam · 08/12/2012 18:58

Thanks. Only just struck me, what he does overnight is very similar in effect to the school fete, in a way - he works for Amazon!
