To be furious that a consultant hasn't told me my results

I was told yesterday and at lunchtime today that my consultant would phone me with my hysteroscopy results ...................... I've heard NOTHING. I feel so upset - now have whole weekend to 'worry' about things. AIBU?

Give him/hert time. He/she does have other patients. Perhaps he/she has to wait himself/herself for test results.

I was told that he had them on Thursday and would phone me today. I do understand that I'm not 'top priority' but just feel aggrieved that noone has been in touch. I'm probably over-reacting, but am sat here in floods of tears thinking thoughts about cancer etc. Sorry Sad

doglover - I've waited a month for my results. It's frustrating but I kept reassuring myself that I would hear if it was bad news. Hospitals place zero priority on normal results

I had a sleepless few nights but then decided to put it out of my mind. Had they told me they'd phone I too would have been v upset when they didn't

Thank you, CL, for understanding. I just need to vent my anger, I suppose!!

I wouldn't worry as a rule they call you straight back if there is somthing to worry about. the fact that he hasn't probably means you will be fine. When did you have the hysteroscopy? I had to wait 5 weeks before I saw my consultant to find out the results of mine, but my friend who was found with "dodgy cells" was told within 48 hours. No point getting up set for the whole weekend just assume its good news and get on with your weekend.

I had the hysteroscopy last Friday, AP, with BUPA. I'm calmer now and am telling myself that no news is good news!

Now if I'd had it privately..... I'd expect a call when they said they would call.

I accept the NHS is understaffed and deals with malignancy as a priority but BUPA generally deals with lots of normals and could afford to give better customer service

That's different then agree with Cabbage if I'd had it done privately I would expect them to call when they said. Still assume No news is good news. And give them hell on Monday.
