To bring my Aunt's new neighbours washing in?

I am visiting my elderly aunt and we have been admiring her neighbours beautiful white laundry blowing in the wind. Now the weather has changed and it looks like rain.
My aunt, who is house bound, has never spoken to the neighbour just waved to her and the children through the window. The neighbours have only recently moved in. My aunt worries about the young mum as she has 3 small children and seems to work part time too. She hears the neighbour doing house work late in the evening.

The neighbour is out now and all her sheets and towels are about to get drenched. My aunt wishes me to gather them in until the neighbour returns. I'm not sure what to do. The neighbour may not like the idea of strangers interfering with her laundry. Should I or shouldn't I?

I think it would be very kind of you to do so, but make sure you pop a note through the letter box so she doesn't think someone has half-inched her sheets!

How will you get into her garden? Isn't that trespassing?

Bring them in, what a lovely thing to do!

Yes do it! Very neighbourly of you, your Aunt may need such assistance in the future from them.

There's a gate between the two houses. Once upon a time my aunts sil lived next door. The gate enabled them to pop into each others houses. The sun has come out again. I'm hoping against hope that either it won't rain or she will come home soon.

Do it and leave a note, through the door letting her know where her washing has gone.

You can be my neighbour any time.

I've wanted to do this a few times, the clothes are hung out in the communal garden, but some people (yes you, Steve) leave their washing out for days on end getting rained on until they finally dry. So I don't bother.

Do it. Leave a note. Lovely :)
