To be really annoyed at people Reposting child abuse videos on fb

First people kept posting pictures of abused animals to 'raise awareness' now loads of people are posting a video of (from the comments, I won't click on the video) of an adult beating a child and sharing it so people can comment how awful the adult is and that they should be shot. I don't understand why people keep Reposting it, we don't know when it was filmed so there's a good chance that child is now on fb and even if not how awful to not only been abused but for the video of it to be spread around online.

AIBU to wonder why the hell people keep watching and Reposting? Do they really think by doing so it will help that child?

What?

Thats awful!

I'd feel sick if I saw that, I know it goes on and I'd do what ever I could to help stop it but I don't need to SEE it. See a real child being hurt. The NSPCC ads are bad enough :(

I think it would seriously be damaging to do so :(

I don't get it either - it seems some people enjoy being horrified and having someone/thing to direct their anger towards.

Not helpful at all.

greenrabbits · 03/12/2012 15:20

Surely it's illegal to share it? Sounds really weird.

SantaWearsGreen · 03/12/2012 15:43

I'm more concerned about who stood there filming it..

YANBU. I haven't seen the video you refer to, but I've had a whole spate of animal abuse photos recently and have been madly defending as a result.
I really can't understand why people are so very stupid. The other ones that sicken me are pictures of children with cancer which we are supposed to like to variously affirm our support / how beautiful they are. The whole thing makes me sick. Facebook can be great fun but it gives such an insight into the stupidity in the world. Sad

i report and then defriend whoever repost these. I did have a PM off one of my friends asking why and i told her straight....i don't want to see a picture of an abused child on my newsfeed.

YANBU, thats disgusting. I only really have close friends on my FB, so i don't think anyone would post something like that, but if they did i would give them a really really good telling off. I have no desire to see something like that.
Someone obviously knows who the child and the abuser is, whilst i have no problem with the abuser being outed (scumbag), i feel for that poor child, how utterly embarrassing.
I would report it.
