I saw on TV, that in Australia all cigarettes are now packaged without branding and with graphic health warnings, including photos of the damage smoking does like these

I'm not a smoker, never have been and can't stand being around people who do. However, if I were a smoker, possibly, the new packs might make me keener to give up, but if they didn't wouldn't I want a nice smart cigarette case to put them in? Obviously hiding the images would mean they couldn't afflict me

An opportunity for someone more enterprising than me to start producing those little metal cases you see on Antiques Roadshow?

They are already available. In Europe anyway.

I quit smoking earlier this year. I hat a cigarette case. Had wonder woman on. Still have it. With my matching lighter.

But then you would be making money by promoting an addictive habit that kills people, OP - which is why plain packaging was introduced in the first place - to discourage smoking! (Anecdotal evidence suggests plain packaging is having the desired affect - hurray!) Am sure there are other ways for you to be enterprising which are more positive than encouraging smoking.

Yep, the Guardian article said there was a woman who was all pleased her family business had been bumped by this decision.

FWIW I think it could be a good idea. Did you ever see Dragons' Den when these three young men were on? They had an idea for accessories for young people - I don't think they mentioned cigarette cases, though. You could have a look here.
