Model Agency scout

Am I being unreasonable, and cynical, to ignore the business card passed to my 15 year old DD whilst she was shopping this afternoon, by the Head of Scouting of a major model agency?

Anyone got any experience of this and what might happen if the parents do ring the number of the card? The card is currently destined for the bin.

Reputable agencies DO approach girls this way.
But then there are test shots, portfolio building etc before any money can be made.
There are lots of young models who earn £3grand a shoot/catwalk show who learn languages, travel independently, grow up but don't become household names and then carry on with their chosen career. If she has good people around her she could enjoy it and really gain from it.

at 15yo encourage school, modelling is brutal with high attrition
yes some make it,but be wary too of the pervs and lechs
call settle your curiosity, ask for personal meeting

I was scouted in my yoof and also did a bit of scouting. I'd follow Jaded's advice and ring Elite's main switchboard number to follow up.

I do think it would be nice for DD to do the interview, unless she's violently opposed to the idea. It's a whole other - somewhat weird - experience. A good story to tell afterwards, and you'll get some photos out of it.

Enjoy :)

I know this is an old thread but just wondering if this led to anything for the OP’s daughter? My Dd was scouted at the Capital Radio Ball last month and we’re headed off to meet them next week.
