copied and pasted from another site.:

I have very much distanced myself from Mumsnet recently, following a warning I received from HQ. Whilst I accepted that I wrote one very out of order comment in a moment of extreme stress and apologised for that, the main gist of it was they didn't like my 'tone' - ie me fighting my end when right wing zealots decided to call me a benefit scrounging scumbag and make suggestions like my disabled children should be euthanised. Unfortunately I am unable to quietly ignore such vitriol against my family, but never resorted to personal attacks. But no, because I wasn't behaving 'naicely' I got a warning.

I remember that thread. It was a pretty uncomfortable read then and just as uncomfortable now.

MurderOfGoths · 01/12/2012 18:12

Quite BoF, it always amazes me when people get a few nutters say horrific things on MN and suddenly it's being talked about as if all MNers rose up as one and said the comments.

bringbacksideburns · 01/12/2012 18:19

What are you on about OP?

I know the lady who did the original Blog you have linked to, personally, and i am not sure what you are saying?
Why are you posting it up on here?

She originally posted on the MN Blogger bit and that was it. She's a lovely person and i'm not sure why you have linked her?

bringbacksideburns · 01/12/2012 18:22

Reading again, i see you are asking when this happened to another person.
Still don't think you should have linked this blog though.

quirrelquarrel · 01/12/2012 18:45

Oh my god when will people let this stone sink? Seriously every time I think it'll be something new but no, oh no, it's back to that one blog post.

Mumsnet is made up of loads of people. When people say "Mumsnetters", I feel separate from that group. Because usually they mean it to describe one very particular front or attitude. There are loads of people from all walks of life on here. It wasn't Mumsnet vs. this poor blogger or an annoying blogger vs. the people of Mumsnet, it was just a silly spat that grew because people like throwing fat on the fire.

Typecast · 01/12/2012 19:50

That blog is mine.
It's a post from 18 months ago.
There was a thread on here, it got nasty, it got sorted out, it's water under the bridge.

If you have an issue with something that happened so long ago or want to find the real story behind the invitation to the MN Blogger Network then there's an email address on my "About Me" page.

AIBU to think that dragging this up again is a bit OTT? Thanks to the few members that have stood up for me - appreciate it :)

Have a great weekend everyone Wine

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 01/12/2012 20:00

I wouldn't give it another thought.

We've had resurrections of five year old threads about cheese before now.

Grin
BOFingSanta · 01/12/2012 20:01

You are so right, Hec Xmas Grin.

Typecast · 01/12/2012 20:04

Hehe Grin

RabbitsMakeGOLDBaubles · 01/12/2012 20:10

I know and like the lady from that blog and I don't think she would have come on here to start a fight, and it's a shame that she had a poor experience on here because I like Mumsnet very much also.

It's an old post, so really do we need to bring it up again? I've all sorts of shite in the past that brought up now would not be relevant to the person I am today, things move on and change.

tethersend · 01/12/2012 20:15

Those brie-faced bastards Angry

BabysPointlessPocket · 01/12/2012 20:20

No need to actually post this OP. I've got a pot of soup on my cooker if you wanted to stir something. Tut tut.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 01/12/2012 20:21

Tethersend you made me spit my wine out Grin

It was the end of the bottle Angry

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 01/12/2012 20:22

Ooh just noticed Christmas smileys.

In that case amend my post to Xmas Grin and Xmas Angry

CuriosityKilledTheCrap · 01/12/2012 20:23

tethersend is being actively 'cheeseist' - I have reported. Angry

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/12/2012 20:25

OP why on earth have you done this?

I'm sure that Typecast doesn't need to be reminded that she embarrassed herself so comprehensively...

tethersend · 01/12/2012 20:30

Some of my best friends are camembert.

CuriosityKilledTheCrap · 01/12/2012 20:36

Oh really? Next you'll be talking about goats(cheese) and flat screen tellies

BOFingSanta · 01/12/2012 20:48

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea, may I just say that for a parenting site, your name is pure genius? Xmas Grin

mrscumberbatch · 01/12/2012 20:56

Love that Typecast has sat it out and is still on MN after that bloodbath applauds

ConfusedPixie · 01/12/2012 21:01

I remember that. The poster realised she'd cocked up and came back and apologised and started posting normally. She still posts iirc but the thread gets brought up every few months Xmas Confused

ConfusedPixie · 01/12/2012 21:04

Haha, massive x-post!

BegoniaBampot · 01/12/2012 21:06

It's actually quite funny looking at the hoohaar created from Typecast's original post and the ensuing 'war' and slaggination of Mn - and here she is quite happy posting away all this time later. Storm in a teacup stuff that doesn't really need to be dragged up again though it did make for some hilarious reading.

Fiendishlie · 01/12/2012 21:08

I remember this well, though I don't recall any mention of euthanasia. Is the thread still there?

Mintyy · 01/12/2012 21:08

Utterly confused.

Who is the person being quoted in the op?

Its not the ta-daaaa blogger (hello there Typecast) is it?
